Oh no! Why or how do they go deaf? Of it from the medicine or the sickness itself?

i hear u -- but i actually live here-- and my dr is anti-vax ---and even he knows there has been an uptick in cases so i just didn't want to take the chance with the new baby. i had trouble leaving the house i was so worried with my first we delayed it till 9 mos. it's a personal thing. my anxiety level etc
believe me this is the last shot she's getting for a long long time.
she's only had this and polio .

I'm guessing the partially killed cells in the vaccine....because the wild strand can cause deafness as well.

Is there a way to find non vax doctors in your area? or ones that are more open to it?

You can google. Dr Sear's has a list, but I think it's outdated.

When a care provider asks you (non-judgementally) what your reasons on, how do you respond?

I lock up on this topic. My state is friggin' nuts about vaccinations. My kids' pediatrician sees a lot of non-vaxxing mama's. When a new pedi joined the practice, and my kids saw him, he was genuinely curious but I went completely blank and felt like an idiot (okay... he's kind of uber attractive so... maybe that's why).

Ouch, I just realized what state you are in. Hardest state to be a non vaxxer. Kudos to you. When I am asked I immediately start blabbering about all the neurotoxins, the press releases the FDA has made about the manufacturing of, the side effects in the clinical trials are about the same risk as a major side effect for the disease and for us the risk isn't worth it. One analogy I always use is if I were to have a 1000 guns lined up with 100 rounds in each, and I was told all rounds are blank, but in one single gun there was a single bullet then asked to pick one up and shoot it at my child, chances are really good that I will not kill my child. But that very slim chance I could, isn't worth it. Same goes for vaccines. I am playing roulette either way, and for me, doing everything naturally to keep their immune systems up to par is far less risky than a synthetic booster filled with neurotoxins.

I tell them it's a well informed decision and not one out of neglect or just not bothered to do the shots, so there is no need to be concerned or to discuss it any further.

I've had 2 health professionals questioning me on vaccines in the past month and i'm seeing another this week and i'm sure they will bring it up again. I'm sick of it, i feel like it's none of their business. It's my legal right to refuse, but they act like i'm doing something terrible by not vaxing. My son was injured by vaccines, there's no way i want to do any more.

Ah! That's good   i think i may just print off the lists of ingredients and side effects and highlight the things i have a biggest issue with. I ended our convo w/ "its just a decision I've made." Which is very firm for me. I guess its good practice.

Its mostly just scary here. So many of my mama friends are having issues. Several friends of friends have had major issues w cps involving not vaccinating.

I agree. Its not their business, in the end. I've only had one care provider be kind of rude (and it didn't feel intentional), and it was over ROTAVIRUS. Like, really? That's where you wanna get snappy?

Anyway, i like your approach!

Oh geez, did they say why the rotavirus? The only one my dr tried to be pushy on was the DTaP. I myself am vaccine injured from that vaccine, my son has had 3 reactions with each one being worse than the previous, so obviously it's the one I am most passionate about and most researched on and most adamant about NOT wanting. After explaining the research I have done and studies I have researched, she took down the websites and said she had a lot of researching to do herself.
