How can you tell if your child has a milk, casein, or gluten allergy?

He had very odd symptoms to it as a newborn. Blood in his stools. (which is a severe reaction and does not always happen) We took casein out of his diet and the bloody stools stopped. When he turned 1 I started trying him on cow milk. He would get runny noses and ear infections alot. I never saw the connection.
I finally started taking casein out of his diet and ALL runny noses, red cheeks and ear infections stopped. If he slipped up and had something with casein he would get an ear infection near that time. He's 3 and seems to do a bit better.. but he's still not completely over it. I do think he will outgrow it though because it seems as time goes by his symptoms get less and less severe.

Will casein be listed in the ingredients? I know gluten isn't listed. My lo has eczema since a few weeks old. She is on similac formula right now. But also eating solids.

My sons was very prominent from the beginning but I didnt know it was from dairy. He was BFd and he would spit up, be gassy and colicy, and rosey colored, and just miserable. Eventually he just refused to nurse and when we changed everything he was like a new baby. At 9 months old we gave him a few yogurt covered cheerios not thinking of it and he was covered in hives head to toe. He would break out if you even touched him with milk.

As he got older we tried it again in small doses and he would get dhiarrea and vomitting. But now at almost 4 he isnt so sensitive. He can have yogurt and cheese and things like that. He just cant drink a large amount of it.

I know most similac formula does have casein. My son was on that as a baby and reacted very badly.. we then switched to a super expensive kind of similac for cow milk allergies I believe it was called Similac alimentum.. they don't use casein in that one. It's pretty expensive though..
I also know Gerber good start uses whey protein instead of casein and that's a bit cheaper.
And not all food products list casein.. but almost anything with milk is a no no if you have a casein allergy. And most things list if they have milk in them.

So my Mom met this lady with a deaf four year old son
She said he was very sweet and had cochlear implants. She told her he had not always been deaf but it was a permanent reaction from the meningitis shot I think Pc? She said her doctor told her that its like one in a million and he just happened to be that percent.

I find it very odd considering my aunt tried so hard to convince me to get N his meningitis vaccines because a lady she knew has a daughter who contracted meningitis and went deaf from it. ( Sry run on)

I feel awful for both children

Not always in normal food products usually if something says milk then I know to stay away..but usually formulas will say on the back if they use casein protein or others.
Here is a link. If they use casein I think it's alot less then what they use in regular formulas. It says here they try to mimic breast milk and breast milk has more whey protein the casein but most formulas are made the opposit.
So maybe they do but mostly use whey? Here is a link..https://sites.google.com/site/roothealthorganicshop/home/holle-faq

My son has never had a vaccination till today because we delayed them. He is 3 years old.
we want to do them slow and only allow 2 pokes a visit. WELL This doctor was trying to rush it so bad, he wanted us to do the flu vaccine, I said NO, and he tells me I'm putting my sons life in danger... ugh. So I listend to his LONG stupid lectures. At the end of the day I still got MY way on how many vaccines my son got and which ones. But I'm annoyed...
OH and also I'm so lucky my sons 3 and has never gotten whooping cough or polio and died as a newborn.
Seriously ticked off about that appt. BUT as long as I got MY way at the end of it all.

I have to say that this is/was the most confusing and upsetting I've had to deal with as a parent b/c I honestly don't know what the best thing to do is, but I did end up vaccinating both my kids (delaying my son a little) and every time just praying they'd be okay, and that I was doing the right thing not only on behalf of my children, but on behalf of the greater society.

Has anyone ever seen this?

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3170075/

Shows strong correlation between SIDS and vaccines. I did a research paper on vaccines for school and I had to find only credible resources to validate my argument. I don't think I've ever, in my life, seen a mother that was anti-vaccine lose her child to SIDS.

Theres a lot of parents whose babies that have died of SIDs who blame vaccines. Its one reason why we are delaying ax cuz we have SIDs in the family but its nt the only reason we are delaying.

I believe that alot of babies do die from vaccine reaction and they just blame it on SIDS. :/ It's sad.

I might even go as far to say that vaccines are the sole cause, which is what this study basically found. Sometimes I read about people who have lost their babies due to SIDS, and I always feel compelled to tell them to not ever vaccinate any of their future children. I feel so angry about it, because I feel like a majority of people are aware of the fact that vaccines are in direct correlation with SIDS. I feel like many babies would be alive today if we could at least delay them until age two, or do some type of allergy test, or something. It should be explored more - a lot of moms have lost their children to SIDS and this may very well be their answer as to what caused it. I am very glad I did my research, because who knows? My daughter might not even be here if I hadn't. All of the babies in my family had bad reactions to vaccines, whether it was a fever-inducing seizure, or constant screaming from the pain.
