I'm just naturally paranoid.

The thought of vaccines shedding terrifies me.

Everything does.

I still try to expose him to things.

I'm starting to question my choice to not vaccinate. I am terrified of polio, meningitis and complications from the other diseases

I agree. You should research them.

I have read 91 pages of this thread...I can't stop reading.

However, I was questioning vaccinating before reading this, now I'm pretty much set on my decision. I want to delay, for sure. However, my mom is a nurse and is completely against my decision and since I don't have a husband, the lack of support for my decision is very trying.

People are so uninformed and judge me for making an informed decision, I don't understand it.

And the argument always seems to end with "she can't go to school without them." Oh really? You just showed me how informed you are.

Basically, I'm having a really difficult time dealing with the stigma and pressure. I will stand my ground because I feel it's what's best for my baby, but some support would be nice. =\

I agree, support WOULD be nice. but personally, I just don't tell people. It is easier IMO, than hearing random BS that is not based in actual facts.

I need support from my mom, since they will attempt to give her the Hep B when I have her and I won't have a husband to make sure my wishes are respected.

Write out a birth plan and have all of your nurses read and sign it....some nurses are ignorant and give it automatically without asking. Hep B for a newborn is extremely dangerous..the aluminum levels go way eyond what can safely be processed by a newborn...I would tell your Mom if you test negative for Hep B than you are not giving it to your baby...go buy the Vaccine Book by Dr. Sears and have her read that study

I already stated I'm not okay with vaccinating. My mom works at the hospital, in labor and delivery and I have this sneaking feeling she will gladly go against my wishes and let my baby have the Hep B shot.

I already have The Vaccine Book. She works at a hospital, she's all for vaccinating. Reading that book does nothing to sway her. This is where my main source of frustrating is coming in. I WANT to believe my mom would respect MY wishes with MY child, but I think on vaccinations...she wouldn't.

I don't think any infant needs the Hep B shot, that is one that I find absolutely ridiculous. My child isn't going to be getting tatted up and having sex before 2nd grade (which is when the vaccine would no longer be effective)...so there is NO WAY I am okay with her having a bunch of toxic crap put in her system for that. I KNOW I don't have Hep B, so she's not at risk.

I don't agree with pretty much all vaccines.

Same here....well I guess just have all the nurses sign something that says you don't want him vaccinated....isn't there a law that says you can treat your family or something like that? Or you could just not send your son to the nursery....demand he be weighed and what not in front of you....my son never left our sight....he was either with my fiance ( I had a c section) or the both of us

Oh my goodness...you need to watch your baby in the hospital! How unnerving. I'm sorry you have to go through that. Do you have a partner who can watch the baby in the nursery when you can't?

You can also insist on rooming in and having ANY medical procedures performed at your bedside. (have you researched the vit k shot?)

Same. My middle child wasn't supposed to get it...it was in my birth plan. But the nurses pressured me at a vulnerable time and got me to sign the form.
