I haven't talked to the doc yet about the vaccines. And I really don't have a 'good reason' other than I just don't want to give them. The thought of putting something that makes normal people sick into my kids' bodies weirds me out. I think it's stupid that you have to convince your pedi and have a good reason (in their book) to not want to do something to your children. I just dont want to...I wish that was good enough.

I think what you said though, is what I'll do. One at a time. What about the combo vaccines? Do you know how they handle those?

I would just tell your Pedi that you are choosing to Delay Vax.
Come up with a delay vax schedule.. I reccomend Dr Sears as a good resource. The Vaccine Book by Dr Sears would be something to consider reading.

The combo Vaccines typically can be given as seperate shots. I know here in my area, they do not have a seperate shot for Measles, mumps, or rubella. I have actually been told that there isnt one available in Ohio by our Health Department... Im not sure how accurate that info is and its never really effected me because we dont Vax at all.

I feel so much pressure. I know SOs mom would start some smurf if I tell her I'm delaying or not doing vax. She thinks she knows everything, and always bitched when I purposely missed my son's appts.
I really need to stand up for myself.

The biggest concern I have...and I'd love to hear everyone's opinions... is the thought of the connection between vaccines and autism. Autism runs in my family and I'm scared to do anything that COULD potentially make it worse. What do you ladies think? Do you believe the hype that it could cause or make it worse?

Oh I have caught smurf from people and I always tell them My kid My choice. Its hard when you dont have family support, I am lucky and have both my DHs side of the family and mine. Maybe not tell your SO's mother of your choice, its not really any of her business anyways.

As for the Autism thing, do I think there is a correlation. Yes. Personally I believe there is. I think that its caused from Toxic overload. I nannied for a family for 5 years who had a son with autism, I have asked his mother her personally opinion on the subject. She told me that she noticed it after a round of shots but she still chose to vaccinate her next child. Im not sure if she does them all or some, I never got into to much detail.

My biggest fear really isn't the whole autism scare. Its the harmful chemicals and the effects they have on the body. Aluminum is used as a binder which stays in the body forever. Its supresses the neurological system severly. Look at all the increased diagnosis in ADD, ADHD, Alzheimers, Cancer, Autism, Etc.
Ontop of that we add formeldahyde, Mercury, Aluminum, Animal Bi-products, Aborted Fetus' to name a few. Im not ok with that.

Your last paragraph is my biggest fear. ADHD/ADD and autism run in my family. Granted...its from neglect as a child (we're adopted, my brothers and myself) but I still don't want to risk it with the vaccines. My son's behavior definitely changed with each vaccine..and the 2 yr shots, along with the lead poisoning from the old house definitely showed a change. He is definitely ADHD at 4 years old. I cannot honestly say that it's because of the shots, but I don't want to risk falsely accusing them with my son child. So I think I'm going to delay them or space them out so that way I can determine what (if) reactions she might have.
I think I'm not gonna tell SO's mom.. She's so judgmental. I told her I didn't want another c section and was disappointed (when I was pregnant still) that the docs were pushing it. She gave me the dirtiest look and basically told me to suck it up. She demanded we name her Zoey and told everyone SHE picked it...although I already knew she'd be a Zoey if she was a girl. Just a stuck up old lady lol So I'm going with what you said--its none of her business

There is no reason to really share your choice with her, let alone your reasoning. It is your child. Fear alone should be a reason why you choose what you choose. If your scared to do it then obviously there is a reason. My only and best advice to you, Please do your research. Its an important choice that needs to be made, and it should be made on facts and knowledge.

Declined Alice's 2 month shots today. Her doctor got on my nervous though - he told me I needed to do more research (which I constantly am doing anyway) because, according to him, Prevnar has a 0% risk of side effects and Pentacel had less than 5% for any side effects- when everything i've seen says it's higher for both. I think next time i'm going to bring in all my research so he will stop assuming i'm clueless and dismissing everything I say.

Wtf? 0%?....Isn't prevnar one of the worst ones? Oh and 5% would still concern me...5 out of 100 babies is ALOT of babies having side affects
