Research before giving him any more. Know the risks and benefits...YOU should decide which shots he gets, not his doctor or the government. You are the one responsible for him if he has any side effects from the shots.

Let me know if you need any links to start you off, and I think there are some on the first page of this thread.

i didnt find it "normal" for a newborn/infant to get a sexually transmitted disease unless the mother had it...so my lo didnt get that shot.
i dont know what o tell you, im sure your pedi would be more than happy to help with that.

I've always found it interesting how the CDC keeps flip flopping on when to give a baby that shot....11 years ago, with my 1st son, they were giving it at birth. Then when I had my 2nd, it was a no-no at birth as well as with my 3rd...then with my 4th they were back to giving it at birth. Regardless, I never gave it to them as well as any other shots. Research research research, please!

I declined the Hep B shot at the hospital and his pedi didn't mention it at his 5 day check. We go back at 2 months and I know they're going to have a long list of shots. Which ones specifically are given at 2 months? Those charts they have are confusing!

Rotovirus (prob. oral), Dtap (Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis) , Hib (Haemophilus Influenza Type b) , PCV (Pneumococcal Conjugate.. "Prevnar"), and Polio

I know we wont be doing the rotovirus. My daughter never had it. I'm going to research these one. Thanks
May I ask which ones you will/wont be getting?

I actually haven't had my baby yet, so I haven't fully decided. I have gone back and forth on a lot. I know no HepB. And Prevnar is somewhat of a new vaccine, so IDK if I trust it fully. RV is not generally that dangerous (I think), and my baby will not be in daycare or anything so I think I'm gonna skip that. The others, I'm not sure yet. Sorry!

I seen your still pregnant so I wasn't sure if you had fully decided! I wasn't going to do the Vit K shot but they did it in the OR.

I don't really believe in homeopathy. Natural remedies, yes, but homeopathy, no. There's no evidence that homeopathic vaccines do anything to the immune system at all, so I think it's a waste of money.

What does swimming have to do with polio? I know that in the past, swimming pools were supposedly a place of transmission, but I haven't heard that today. And I think that issue is controversial, because some chemicals sprayed around swimming pools may have been the cause of the paralytic polio symptoms.
