Teeth question!!

OK so i think there's something wrong with my teeth! my gums are swollen and i chipped one the other day on an..M&M!! I know that they say being pregnant sucks the viatmens outta your gums and teeth! and it did it to my mom, having 3 kids basiclly rotted her teeth out of her mouth and she brushed everyday!! and i brush 2 times a day also!! I know i need to go to the dentist, but i was just wondering if any of you guys' teeth haev gotten weaker, and what you did/do, or what the dentist said!!

Drink more milk The baby is taking all the calcium from your teeth and body. My aunt had this happen to her teeth.

Mine seem fine as usual except once in a while one might hurt and feel like there is a cavity there but I can never see any cavities so I assume it's just a toothache.

when you are pregnant your gums get more sensitive and swollen....just because of the increased blood flow and such. my dentist told me to try to brush 5 times a day....not hard core brushing just go a bunch of light ones throughout the day to try to keep my gums as healthy as possible

i do drink milk! between me and my toddler we go through 4 gallons a week! its crazy! maybe i need some calcium vitamins!!

I never ever had a cavity until I got preggo with my first..went to the dentist while preggo they were fine...after giving birth I had 3 cavities..they said that the calcium is what the baby was taking from me to increase with pregnancies...with my second I was so sick I couldn't keep anything down and one of my filings feel out..I need a root cannal done because it was so bad...I spent 9 hours total in the chair come to find out she did it wrong and I had to have the tooth pulled...

this one I am keeping up on the calcium

Are you taking your pre-natals??

After my first pregnancy, I did brush at least twice a day mind you, I ended up with 16 cavities!!!!

yep everyday!! with my first baby, i didnt have this problem!! everyone in my family has had bad teeth! but not me, i got my teeth from my dads side, and i've always loved them cuz they're white(even after smoking for 7 years) they're srtaight, and in good shape! but now for some reason they feel weaker! its retarded i know, i just dont want to have gross teeth!

MINE ARE CHIPPING, TWO TO BE EXACT, IN THE BACK, IT STARTED AFTER I HAD MY SECOND. I DON'T DRINK MILK LIKE I SHOULD THO.

i dont go to the doc till next monday, but maybe i can call and see if it would be ok to take an o.t.c calicum pill!

I do because of my age and because of the teeth thing..all you need to know is what dose you should take..

I laughed at my hubbys grandma when she told me that teeth like to go bad during pregnancy. I thought if I just brushed and flossed, I would be ok. But I still get swollen gums and loose feeling teeth when I am pregnant. so I dont know. def. take more calcium.

i always knew it can happen, cuz my mom's teeth completely deteriorated(38 with false teeth) after having kids! i guess i was in denial cuz my teeth were so good! oo well looks like i get to go to the denist!! thanks ladies!!

^ Totally what you mean! Everyone in my family has bad teeth except my twin brother. Mine are so-so, but dammit I am drinking the hell of out fat-free milk, and having extra calcium supplement. I rather gain too much weight then my teeth get too messed up. At least I know I can lose the weight like I did with my Cruz! *nods head*
