question for women who have 2 or more children already

posted 19th Sep '08
When you were pregnant, did you have a sense of what the child would be like before it was born? Like, hair color, eye color interests? Were you right?

With my first 4 children I did. I had a strong feeling what the genders would be, I had a strong feeling what the hair color would be and I had a strong feeling of their eye color. With my first daughter I imagined she would have red hair, green eyes and a face like her father. She had blue eyes when she was born, but when she was 2 years old, thet turned green!!! I also knew she would be strong willed, smart, silly and a girly-girl. With my youngest daughter Mara, I knew her hair would be a reddish blonde color, she was born with black hair with blonde tips but now she is 1 year old and her hair has turned a blondish red color. With my boys I knew they would be boys. In fact with my oldest son I had a name picked out the day I found out I was pregnant, I ONLY chose a boys name and kept saying"I sure hope I'm right because I've got nothing for a girls name" lol.
I had a good idea of what color hair they'd have and what types of personalities they'd have. It's fuuny though, with my younger son I couldn't decide if I thought he'd have brown hair or red hair and in reality he has a hair color that looks different depending on how the light hits it.

I knew my little Mara would like music, which I was right about, she is 1 like I said and she sings right along with her siblings, she may not be able to say the words yet but you should see her try to do the hand gestures to "Bonnia the beautiful butterfly"

I have several drawing I have done of my kids before I conceived them that show how right I have been. When I was pregnant for my 3rd, before I knew what I was having, I drew a girl, a boy, a boy and a girl.....which is what I have now. A couple months ago, about when I conceived the one I am carrying now...I took a peice of paper, drew the kids I have now, and drew a stick figure, random baby with the year 2009 over it. I didn't know I was pregnent, it actually may have even been a week or so before I even WAS pregnant.

So has anyone else experienced anything like that?

Also...the weird thing is though that I am pregnant a 5th time and I have absolutely NO clue what the gender will be or hair color or ANYTHING! I am not picking up a single clue. With all my other kids, finding a name wasn't hard, I just knew when I heard the right one that it was RIGHT. But with this one, I have read thousands of names and I've got NOTHING. I wonder why that is. If that has happened to anyone else, where they knew so much about all their kids but had one they knew nothing about...what was the outcome of the unknown one?
