Hey ladies, here is the Dieting/Weightloss Tips
Suggest you copy and save on your computer.
Tips for great weightloss
-Meat Protein-Enjoy lighter meat proteins, such as Chicken and White Fish. As these break down quicker in your body. Red Meats and Pork take 2-3 days to break down, leaving your body more time to gather and store fat. Fatty fish, such as Salmon, are just that, fatty. Enjoy in moderation.
- Vegetarian Protein, such as eggs, nuts, cheese. (try using cheeses that are 3grams of fat or less)
- Vegetables, remember green is best. 1cup of most veggies equals one portion. Exceptions, 3 cups lettace, 2 cups spinich, and 6 baby carrots. (carrots are higher in sugars, and should be eaten in moderation..think horses, feed them carrots to beef them up)
- Fruits, are great!! The best ones are Cantaloupe or Watermelon. Melons are mostly water, therefore less for your body to hold on too, plus they help to flush your system. Grapefruit is great too. Grapefruit helps the acids in your tummy breakdown your foods. NOTE: some medications can not be taken with grapefruit, so please read your medications first.
-Dairy-8oz Skim Milk is one portion. Skim milk is best for weightloss, as it has least amount of fat. Fat free yogurts, fat free pudding cups, Cheese (3 grams or less fat) are all good sources of dairy.
Contray to belief, Ice Cream, should not be considered a dairy during weightloss it's a carb
. Starches/Carbs- Try to use only 1 heavy starch throughout the day, such as bread, buns, potatoes, corn, peas. (surprise these "vegetables" are in starches because of their high starch intake) Ice cream is a Starch! Try using lighter starches such as low sodium crackers, high fiber cereals, fat free popcorn, and tortilla wraps. Your body needs starch, it depends on what starches you choose. and do not eat in excess. a few a day is okay, mix up different catagories. example, have a bowl of cereal in the morning, a wrap for lunch, and some popcorn before or after dinner.
** Make sure to try to get 8 8oz glasses of water .. or 4 500ml bottles of water each day to help keep your system moving, and body hydrated.
**When in doubt, use JELLO (sugar free/fat free) .. can have it unlimitedly... so keep a bowl made in the fridge or the prepackaged ones.. so snacky/munchy time.
TWO DAY FLUSH
***Must be 6 weeks PP and NOT sole-source breast feeding!!!!!
Eat 1 whole cantaloupe throughout each day. This helps flush your system.
Enjoy any meats unlimitedly, NO Pork or Deli Meats.
Enjoy ONLY Green Vegetables unlimitedly. No Peas/Beans
Must have 2 eggs per day.
Drink 8x 8oz glasses of water per day. (yes you will be peeing alot)
Allowed butter/oil for cooking, reduced fat or fat free salad dressings, and spices.
NO CARBS/NO DAIRY/NO SALT
Suggestions to make easy for new mom's:
Make a big bowl of salad, Lettace, cucumber, green peppers, green onions, celery, zucchini, and broccoli
You can eat this salad unlimitedly all day, .. easier to have pre-mad ein your fridge to grab a bowlful when hungry.
Cook up a few steaks/chicken breasts and cut up in strips to top salad. Purchase a ready to eat rotissaire chicken.
Have steak and eggs for breakfast, or make an omellete with green peppers, green onions, broccoli.
Make Tuna and cucumber appetizers. slice cucumber and top with tuna.
***NOTE: This flush can only be done for 2 days. Must leave 14 days of regular eating before repeating the flush.
your brain needs Carbs to function, you may feel "stupid" for 2 days. May get headache.
MORE TIPS - Lemon in your water helps reduce bloating
Really good when you get your periods ladies.. .. jsut add a slice or two in your water bottle and away you go.... oh and did you know room tempature water is better for you than cold in the fridge water, doesn't shock your body/organs...
oh, if you like spicy things,... hot spices such as cayenne are good for you, .. they warm your core and your body has to work to cool it down, plus again flushes the system...
trying to eat 5-6 small meal/snacks through out the day instead of 3 big meals... keeps your metabolism wworking and alert all day, no time to sleep..
and eat something, ... within 30 mins of waking up, jsut like your alarm clock.. (oor baby screaming) wakes you up... food wakes up your metabolism to start working, otherwise you are up doing stuff and it's in bed sleeping and you aren't working anything off.
I used to take a divided dinner tupperware to work but I would put things like unsalted nuts and veggies and berries in the lil dividers..
chose veggies or fruit for snacks, low sodium crackers, low fat or fat free cheeses, fat free pudding cups, fat free yogurts , unsalted nuts, Smart Pop popcorn, (less fattening) ...
for really nice treats, try fat free yogurt with frozen berries or fresh, broken up low sodium graham crackers..or low fat granola makes a great parfait treat.
try chocolate fat free pudding, mixed with 1 tbsp fat free peanut butter and add low sodium graham crackers or animal crackers... actually is a really great treat, I usually save that for my PMSing chocolate treat.
Fat Free Jello is great to have anytime/all the time, ... not fattening, I add a lil bit of coolwhip light on top for a treat.
make a snack mix, using your popcorn, nuts, a lil bit of honey and some cinnoman..... put it in a baggy and shake it up... nice sticky treat... great at holiday parties too... you can alsospead on a wax paper covered pan and warm in oven on very low heat then let cool, .. cut into squares.
try different pudding with different fruits,
my favourites are
chocolate and banana
vanilla and raspberry
Butterscotch and green apples
get creative with your fruits
Veggies, .....
Cucumber with tuna mini appitizer sandwiches, use two slices of cucumber and fill with tuna...
use fat free salad dressings as dips for peppers, carrots, cucumber, celery. broccoli and cauliflower
When making dinners try to have 2 cups of veggies with piece of meat instead of the traditional potatoes/corn/peas ... such as broccoli and cauliflower, carrots, sauteed peppers in vinigarette salad dressing.
for lunches have wraps instead of bread sandwiches... use mustard instead of mayo or other sauces...
you can be creative with wraps... chicken, steak, tuna, and so many combinations of veggies...
have salads as side dishes... instead of rice or french fries
Use no-salt spices to give different flavours (oregano, parsley, cinnamon, garlic, etc)
note that beef and pork take longer for your body to digest, try sticking to chicken or white fish more often and treat yourself once a week to beef..
I changed all my recipes that requires ground beef to ground chicken, and no one in my family has even noticed, and it's better for them.
(meatloaf, spagetti/pastas)
I also make my meatloaf in a muffin pan, so they are portion controlled.
also makes for nice serving display on plate when company is over.
