Quoting Beth [Tegan's Mommy]:“ Dr.Phil's show today left me wondering what you guys think about this topic. Here's the link: http://drphil.com/shows/show/1123 ... [snip!] ... the store? Or is it never acceptable if you're more than two feet or so away where you can get to him/her within a few seconds?”
Quoting Samantha10.31.08:“ I think it depends on how old they are. I don't think I'd ever leave my child under the age of say 8 ... [snip!] ... that is) they'd know how to lock the doors after I got out and wouldn't unlock them for anybody but ME. Yah know what I mean?”That's true. I guess I should have specified lol.
Quoting jnazmom:“ When we were little, my dad used to send us to the car with the keys so we wouldn't "get bored" waiting ... [snip!] ... checkout. And then he'd tail it to the liquor section and buy booze when we were out of eyesight. He was awesome like that.”Wow...

Quoting meridian:“ I knew a family where the wife had the kids asleep in the car while she ran into the convenience store ... [snip!] ... it until too late, and he panicked and abandoned the car and the kids were fine, but it could have turned out much, much worse.”That's what I'm afraid of. I know a lot of people think "Well I can see it so it's fine", yeah you can see someone get in your car and drive away. Or you can see someone smash in the windows and kidnap your child and you won't be able to do anything about it. I know it's probably not likely but I guess I'm just a worrywart.
