13 months and...

my daughter has been really interested in the potty lately. she has started tugging at herself when she needs to go pee, so i took her little potty out from storage, showed her what its for, and let her experience. Today, she was running around without a diaper because she has a horrible diaper rash. She started tugging at herself, so we walked to the bathroom, and i helped her get all the way on the potty, and she actually peed on it! and she is only 13 months old!!! I was shocked! Maybe this is a fluke, but it would be totally neat if my daughter was potty trained by the time she is 2!!!

actually in the 60's and 70's the average age for a baby to be potty trained was 18 mths so it isnt impossible. Alot of moms were stay at home moms back then and spent more time on it so that may have been a cause of it being so early- just keep watching her cues and she may by 18 mths!

I'm not at stay at home mom anymore. I stayed home for the first year, and have just recently gone back at the end of July.

My son pottys in his potty chair now and he is 16 almost 17 months!!!
He dose still use a diaper..but its bc he pees so darn much!! And i am always taking him to the potty!!
But this week ive only had to change one dirty diaper!! Yeah!!

Congrats and lucky you! LOL My daughter will be 3 in November and I remind her daily to tell me when she has to go potty... However, she seems to remember to tell me that she has to go potty after she already has!

i didnt mean that you are- i meant that maybe back in those days one of the cause of most babies being potty trained by 18 mths was that there WERE a lot of sahm's.

My daughter was potty trained by 15 months . . . It was great!! She basically potty trained herself. LoL . . . One day she said "No diaper" and hasn't wore one since that day, not even to bed. She is 3 now, and she has had maybe 8-10 accidents in her life . . . Oh i love my girl!! Sorry . . Just had to boast LoL

I started when my kid was 13 months old too. Aint a damn thing wrong with early potty training. To me, its act6ually better to get them into the mood of being on the toilet and knowing what they have to do on their.
