Cutting teeth

How many months old are babies when they usually cut their first tooth? I know it probably varies. I have two kids already I should know this, but I seem to forget what age they were at certain milestones.

Marni started teething when she was 2 months old, and a tooth finally popped through a week ago, and she's 5 months today, and I feel more trying to come through.
I heard babies can even come out with teeth, which need to be pulled because the gums cannot support them yet, but when she first started teething, I asked my doc if it was early for her, and he said it was early but some babies do it earlier than others and basically your baby can teethe at any time.
My neices little one didn't start teething until she was 4-5 months, mine started at 2 months, and others say different times so I think it's just one of those things where every baby is different.

Thanks for the replies. I remember my middle son cutting teeth early but I couldn't remember exactly when it was. My youngest will be four months on the 27th and he has been crabby when he usually is so happy and he is drooling like crazy. I thought he was probably teething but I didn't see or feel anything really yet so I wasn't for sure.
