Does she know something I don't know?

posted 8th Sep
So I'm 12 days away from my due date and the last 3-4 days, my dog has been excessively clingy. She will not let me out of her sight and wants to be right next to me CONSTANTLY! I'm wondering if she can sense that something is going on and that baby might be here soon. Call me crazy, but I honestly believe that animals can sense certain changes in our bodies before we can. Have any of you experienced a change in your pets behavior as your delivery date approached?

My dog always lays on my lap or right next to me. I think he's just protecting the baby, because I'm sure he can tell somethings up, that i'm pregnant. so he's always right next to my belly.

Maybe he's just protecting you.

You know, I've actually been wondering the same thing. I have 3 dogs, well 7 but 4 of them are puppies, and all 3 of the adults have been extremely clingy and lovey. They won't stay out off my butt the last few days.

My In-laws have this extremely hyper puppy that goes nuts around me and starts snapping with back flips whenever I'm around. Lately tho, he comes up to me and lays his head on my lap. It's totally out of the ordinary. I do believe that animals can sense our hormones.

Yeah, that's how Roxie (my dog) is. I can't even take a shower without her laying right outside the tub, waiting for me to come back out. She's stuck to me like white one rice.

I believe this too. Here is why. I got pregnant in December well my dog would stay by me constantly, She never played with toys, but she has them. When I would take her rabbit and squeak it she would start whining and take it from me and carry it around the house in her mouth whining then take it to her kennel and lay it down. If you got it again she would chase you for it whining. My dog doesnt whine normally. This was all taking place in Jan. In Feb I went in for my first ultrasound and found out that I had miscarried at about 6 weeks along. Iwould have beenalmost 11 weeks at this point. I thought back and then made the connection, she started it around the time I would have miscarried. She knew... during that time she would just come up and lay her head on leg too and just whine.

I truly believe animals can sense changes in our bodies before we can.

I'm sorry about your miscarriage. That is amazing though that she started acting so strangly around that time. I wish animals could communicate and let us know what was on their minds. I'd love to know what my Roxie is thinking when she sits and stares at me w/ those big brown eyes.

Anytime anything is wrong with me my dog sticks right by me, also with my mom. Last year I had kidney stones, and he wouldnt leave my side. And through out my pregnancy so far hes been by my side. However my sister in laws dog, who is usually always right on me, wont come near me! LoL, I definately believe dogs have that sense..

I'm only 5 1/2mos but my dogs are way more clingy to me. They follow me all day, my lil one Delilah sits on my feet while I do the dishes! And Leonidas just wont leave me alone. When my hubby leaves for work in the morning he takes it as his place to fall back asleep with mommy on my bed. When I veg out infront of the T.V. they stay right at my feet or jump on the couch with me and Delilah always snuggles as close as she can now!

I was wondering about that too because my cat does the same thing! She usually keeps to herself but lately she's been so clingy! She goes where ever I go. She'll even lay next to the bath tub when I'm bathing. The weirdest thing though is that I was laying down the other day and she actually came up to me and started licking my tummy! She could just be acting weird but I dont know! I've always thought that animals can sense certain things. Glad I'm not the only one!
