SCIATICA.. HELPPPPPP

posted 7th Sep
Ok, so just recently since my baby "dropped" my sciatic pain is becoming unbearable to the point where I am almost entirely immobile when it comes around, the pain has been excruciating and coming more frequently. I had to take out my old crutches just to be able to move around because when the pain comes I can't even move my leg. I sit on the stairs sometimes because I get stuck and I can't move around after that. Does anyone know what will relieve this pain? What I should do about it? I hope this makes my baby come soon. I'm going crazy with pain and I don't know how much more of it I can take.

I know I can't wait for my baby to get here. Last night it was so bad that I literally crawled to the bathroom at 3am, lol. It helps to change sleeping positions(sleep on the opposite side of the pain.) Sit up with a pillow behind your back or keep your legs elevated. That pain is so horrible it makes me cry so I know what you are going through.

Hm. I dont recall you doing so. My doctor has changed my due dates 3 times since being pregnant so I don't even know when I am really going to deliver. I have two different measurements from two different hospitals and I used to be measuring large and now I am measuring small. Apparently my cervix is extremely thin and he is already engaged in position. I am supposed to go in next week to see if I am dialated yet.

I go in to start my regular weeklys but I haven't had any kind of exam yet. I do have U/S once a week to measure my fluids and according to them I am right on schedule. Hopefully he'll come a week early!

Oh my goodness I know how you feel. I can't wait until they find a cure for this horrible pain. I didn't know what it was until one day I woke up and my right side was killing me! Every step I took I had shooting pain down my entire leg I was miserable. It went away a day or two later, though. Try sleeping on the opposite side, I know they say it's best to lay on your left side but if that side is giving you problems, a couple of nights of poor circulation will be your best bet.

Good Luck!

Well at one hospital I am supposed to be due on Sept. 11. The other one says October 7th. My New doctors (third one btw) told me I should be ready for it in about two weeks. I am so frustrated. Its weird to know that you get U/S every week. I was only allowed two U/S. One was an emergency, the other was for a check up. Apparently they just recently proved that over exposure to ultrasounds can cause brain damage and behaviour issues to the baby. They are only on a "need to have" basis.

I am extremely high risk, that's why I have one done once a week.

maybe try soaking in a warm bath for awhil that could help move your little one is what my OB suggested to try and get the baby to 'float' as she called it and it actually helped and she started moving around as soon as i started relaxing in the bath.

also you can have someone get their hand palm flat on your back to where it hurts and they can push where you tell them to help as well or get on your hands and knees and arch your back like a cat, that helps with moving the baby too

Wow. September 11th and October 7th is a really big difference, so what due date are they going with?

Well my OBGYNbeforedecided to go with the Oct. 7th, then I got a new doctor and she decided to tell me I should be due in two weeks instead. I stopped listening to all of them and decided that I am almost done so I'll just wait and see. They are taking into account my measurements and also the last time I had my period. I have a very irregular cycle and they were unsure of when I am exactly due.

Wow that must be frustrating. I know based on my LMP I would have been due on August 28th. I really believe I have passed my due date. So are you just going to wait and see when you have the baby on your own?

I am going to my appointments regularly but its getting harder. With my sciatica acting up and the fact that I still have to drive myself its a pain.
