So last Friday I got Mirena. I went back Wednesday for a check up and she wasn't entirely happy with where it was located. So then she called me back Thursday to ask me to come back to redo the procedure with a new device. I didn't hesitate because I wasn't sure when my next available time to get in would be.

So, I am on the table in that oh too familiar (and uncomfortable) position with an untrasound tech, my doctor, a tech in training and a new assistant. All women, but still, a hell of a crowd looking at my girly bits.
She is removing the original IUD when the assistant runs in, door wide open, "Dr. Ruiz, we can't do the procedure. She tested positive for pregnancy." I scream, nearly falling off the table. "No. no no no no no No WAY am I pregnant!" My doctor is confused, I am panicked and confused, feet waving in the air about to take the tech's head off. So her assistant says "Yes she is! I tested her urine!" I scream. "I didn't pee today!!" "oh..." she says in the smallest voice ever... "I'm sorry." I calm down and wipe the gallon of sweat off my head and say "well, congrats to that girl but thank goodness I'm not havingBaby #2 right now!!"

This would not be a terrible thing, but this is the second, no third, time this assitant has been a retard. The first time she had me undress completely and then moments later put my clothes back on to move to a different room. The second time I'm spread eagle on the table and she opens the door wide to go get something the doctor requested and leaves it open only to return to say she's going to finish a chart and then bring back the item she requested. My doctor gave herthe look and then said, no please help me with Julie right now, and not the patient that has already left. I'm motioning to get the bone head assistant fired! lol kidding,or am I? I can'tdecide if I want to complain aboutheror if I should just laugh it off. I LOVE my doctor, but this assistantis too much drama for me!

Julie that girl is dumb! She has no business working in a clinic if she isn't double checking her work. I would complain in a heartbeat!

Thanks for the support, girls. I do think I will tell Dr. Ruiz how I feel about the girl next time I am in. She did say to me the other day that she isn't sure how much longer the assitant will be there because she is not entirely happy with how she is doing. I may not need to say anything since this is the case. I love my doctor and I don't want to make her feel bad for her retarded assistant and clearly she must already see this.

Oh yeah. I did laugh. I was laughing the entire time I was screaming "no no no" but I laugh when I'm really nervous and I was trying to keep a good sense of humor about the whole thing. But, after I've sat and thought about all of the dumb things the girl has done lately it's making me wonder about how many other women she is making mistakes with and if an OB/GYN clinic is where she should really be. I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt and I am always a light hearted person, but I know not everyone is going to be like me.

Seriuosly if I was spread eagle and the door was opened on my fat a** there would be HELL to pay. I could understand first time shame on you the second time okay lady come on, the third I would have kicked her a** out that clinic myself. Sorry it just urkes me the wrong way to see how badly we can be treated by the people who should be taking care of us.

How long did you get your period for after you had it placed? I have had mine 3 months now and am on my4th period,UGH!

you will hate me, but I have only had mirena "installed" haha, since the friday before last, and then removed and a new one corrected on Thursday of this week and I barely bled at all. Some very mild aches but that's it. Well, we'll see what happens and if it changes.

Yeah. I think I am. So far so good and I am clearly not ready for another baby yet and pills have always given me depression and I am so not a depressed kind of girl, so so far, so good with Mirena.
