will he devlop normally?

James was born 6 weeks early will he devlop like a normal baby? Like will all his milestones start from when he was born or when he actual due date?

It just depends on the baby. Hayden was born 10 weeks early and for the first little while was REALLY behind. Now he's 9 months old and ahead of some babies his actual age in some things and behind them in others!

It should be very close to normal - my daughter was about 6 weeks early and she developed right on schedule for the most part .
My doctor never told us to adjust for her - if you haven't been told to adjust I would expect there is no reason to.

I have heard of some parents using their child's gestational age to judge milestones as opposed to their technical age. As in, if your child was born two months early, you would look for milestones that a four month old would hit when your baby is technically six months old.

I wouldn't expect him to reach milestones until his due date. However, he may reach them earlier!
