Can Anyone Help Me With This Question?

posted 6th Sep
ok..I've had many random people tell me about a round of shots for woman that has miscarried before such as me..that your OB can give you to prevent your cervix from opening and keep you from going into labor..I know there's a shot that they can give you to stop your labor if it's preterm but is their a another shot they can give you early in your pregnacy to keep you from going into labor later on in your pregnacy? I've just had woman telling me they knew people who has had multiple miscarriages and got the shot the next time they were pregnant and everything went good and they had healthy babies but it's sound to good to be true! What do you think? Have any of you heard about this shot before? If so what's the name of the drug used in the round of shots? I know it sounds like a stupid question ut I just have to know!

It is a progesterone shot or aka P17 shot. I didn't get a chance to do the shot because I ended up with a cerclage. It works to give your more progesterone. Lack of progesterone can cause miscarriages too....it depends on each woman and how her body responds. Did your doc check your progesterone level? Did he say that the lack of progesterone was the reason that you miscarried?

Tthere are a lot of moms that get the shot on the Incompetent Cervix Support group website. They would be able to answer all of your quesitons.

Thank you soo much..&& I don't know if that would be a possiblity for me..my doctor doesn't really tell me much of anything..Just "Maybe next time will be better.". I'm actually going to switch doctors..Mine never ran any testes or even really checked me..she just did blood work to see if my levels droped..which they did. But this an happened twice..you'd think she would be trying to help me figure out why it keeps happening but she don't..Anyways..Thank you!
