My little man is one month today...I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. They just grow so fast! He is a good baby, crying only when hungry or gassy. He is very alert and loves to look around at everything and makes the cutest little O with his mouth when he is hungry, like a little bird. He is my world and I can't imagine life without him!

Labor was about 11 hrs and 16 minutes long... the actual pushing was only 10-20 minutes. Amazing seeing how big she was. I opted to get an epi... well that was a worthless atempt that will never ever happen again. It worked for like 15 minutes, and it was lopsided, so once he tried to 'fix' it and it didnt make it any better... I just said screw it and made him take it out. Soo, i really wanted to do it natural, and I got to do it natural! The bad thing is since I'm allergic to certain numbing agents my dr didnt really want to do an epistosimy thing so she tried her best to get me to not tear or anything.. but I ended up tearing pretty bad... and I also ended up bleeding a lot more than normal, which I didn't realize.. and was wondering why my mom and my fiance looked so worried... I didn't know how bad it was till I got up in my room and they were telling me about it.
But, things are good now. I'm at 4 days PP and today.. omg was a day. We had to take her to the dr because she has a slight case of Jaundice, so we had to take her to the hospital to get lab work done, and it came back that her levels are up, so we have to formula feed as well, which seriously blows because after I fed her today, I realized that my boob felt wet and odd and omg it was leaking like mad, so my milk came in today... boy oh boy.
Sorry... I feel like I'm ranting!
BUT congrats to all august and september mommies!

Addison Emilee Beaty
Born: August 25th 08 at 7:22 am
9lbs even
21 inches long
Had labor contractions for 2 days at home made 2 trips to the hospital and by the 3rd trip, i was dilated to a 6 so i was finally able to stay! I recieved demorall but i didn't help AT ALL with contractions and i couldn't recieve an epi because my white blood cell count was too high! I had no sleep the sat night, sunday and sunday night before delivery and i was soooo tired!! Around 6 am i started feeling like i needed to push, but my doc wasn't there yet so they told me i had to wait, i tried and couldn't wait. They checked me and told me i was at a 9 and tried to tell me not to push again, but i couldn't help it and started pushing!! My doc got there just in time, and after a lil over an hour of pushing out came Addison! I did have to get cut, which i think it's healed up now.
I'm trying to breastfeed but not making enough, so we're having to supplement with formula. She's exactly 2 weeks old today and is doing awesome! She's gained 4 ounces and grown 3/4 of an inch long!

I was due to have a section on the 5th of Sept due to GD an the baby was breech but Ryan had his own ideas. At around 8 in the evening on the 25th of August my waters broke an i went into labour. By the time i got to the hospital i was 2cm and an hour later i was 5cm, due to the fact he was breech i was rushed to the labour ward where i was c-section and Ryan was born 3 weeks early.

Born: August 6th at 4:19pm by induction
6lbs 4oz
19.25inches
I went in on the 5th at 3am to be induced due to preeclampsia. They started trying to dilate me, but by 6pm I was only at a 2, so the doctor said we'd have to try again the next day. On the 6th at 8am the dr came and broke my water and about an hour later the anesthesiologist came to give me my epidural. Well, the epidural didn't work so the nurses came and gave me IV meds. The IV meds made me go to sleep, and I have sleep problems and stopped breathing which made the baby's heart rate drop. Next thing I know I'm surrounded by nurses. They flipped me and shoved an O2 mask in my face. They stopped my IV meds, and around 3:45 the anesthesiologist came and re-did my epidural (still didn't work) and I had my baby at 4:19pm after only 3 good pushes.
Now at nearly 5 wks, we're finally doing good We had a little bit of a problem finding a formula that didn't make fer fussy and gassy, but now we've got her on Alimentum, which is workin pretty good She eats every 3 hours, except at night, when she'll sleep from about 11:30 to 5 straight

Aww, does this mean August mommies who gave birth in July can't join this thread?
My baby's Peyton Santiago Niles, he was due August 6 but came out July 21st, 2008. He was 7 lb 2 oz and 19 11/16 inches long. Born 5.04 pm via c-section
He's 7 weeks now and is around 10 lb 3 oz at his last checkup and is 22 inches long. He makes these funny little faces a lot and he's so strong, he's been able to lift his head on his own since a couple of days after birth. He's starting to differentiate between night and day and so is sleeping more at night He smiles but not on demand yet - I can't wait for that to happen though!
It's great of Alyssa to start this thread - there have been days when I just want someone to talk to who is going through what I am!

Baby Rileys Momma for starting this, hopefully we can get more of the July/August/September mommies in here... I can't get over how many of us were due in August and how a couple either went so early to be a July momma or went so late to be a September momma

It took me about 3 weeks for I was able to actually get around and take care of my baby by myself. The first week after birth I had a lot of pain from my stitches, but it eventually got better. The second week I ended up with a case of mastitis which was no fun at all and I hope to never get it again. I was having chills and running a fever of 104! but all is well now and I am finally starting to feel like myself again! but I will say that in the end...He was worth it all!
