Head cold during pregnancy, how do I treat it?

What I thought to be allergies is seeming more and more like a headcold to me. Ive gotten some low grade fevers, my lymph nodes are swollen so are my sinuses. Ive gotten the headaches and sore throat and am very fatigued. I'm a booger factory (so let me know if you need any, I'm overstocked). What can I take to help with this.???..it totally sucks.

that's exactly how i am right now!!! my doctor told me to take Sudafed (its in a white and blue box that you have to get from behind the pharmacy....12 hour formula). its working well. she also told me to make sure i drink A LOT of water. if after taking the sudafed doesn't work after about 3-4 hours i take Tylenol for my throat. it helps.

thanks, I shouldve mentioned in the original post that I cant take sudafed because of my heart condition. Do you know of any sudafed free products?

LMAO I am the same way as well, I think it's something in the water! lol J/K but really I have had a cold for like a week now and what I have been doinf is rubbing my chest and neck with Vicks and putting a hot cloth on my face to clear up my sinuses, but since you a fever as well I wouldn't do the hot cloth. I've heard people say you can take Tylenol Cold but I can't be too sure on it. Hope you feel better soon  

maybe get a vicks vaporizer to use in the evenings to open you up. my doctor told me not to take the cold medicines over the counter, that she'd give me a perscription so maybe just see your doctor?? it sucks not being able to down some dayquil

I'm partially wondering if it may be the flu I've gotten. I get the chills and hot flashes, the fever, the muscle aches, headaches and over all blah feeling. Walking to the kitchen is exhausting. I go to the doc on Wednesday and hopefully she'll give me a 'script to get me feeling better.

I'm totally used to suffering through illness, all the good meds are ones I cant take so I usually dont end up taking anything at all. But this time around I'm just very unwell and its hard keeping upwith a crawling 8 month old that eats anything that isnt stapled to the ceiling. I'm tempted to go to Imediate Care or the Minute Clinic, but I doubt they'll treat me if I'm pregnant.

I don't think you can take anything well maybe Tylenol cold and sinus but you should call your doc... my sister had a sinus infection the whole time she was pregnant and that’s all they would let her take...

first..call your doc. name out all your symptoms. and let them know what you have tried or what you know doesnt work for you.
they will let you know what you can take. and what you cant and may end up sending a prescription to the pharmacy for you.

second, lots of water. drink some tea and stuff too tea is great when you have a cold

third, hot water running in the bathroom maybe fill the sink or something. and a few drops of alcohol and sit in the steamy room
