after you had your membranes stripped did you start to contract? if it did work, that is.

it's been about 5 and a half hours since I got it done...and I am having contractions, but they're pretty short, like 30-40 seconds. I haven't started timing in between them yet because they seem pretty far apart. I hope this means it's working!
the contractions aren't that bad either, very mild. Do you think if I walk around for a while it could help speed things up more, or should I just wait and see what happens?

Walking around and squatting and keeping upright will all work in your favor if you are in labor

My contractions started the same day and I had my son two days later. I was 3 cm dilated when they stripped them.

last week I was 1 cm and 50% effaced. This week she said I'm on the verge of 2 cm and 70% effaced. I hope the progress means my body is ready for labor and this will take into effect. If not, I guess there's always a second try next week. My doctor doesn't induce until after I hit 41 weeks, but I reallyyyy don't want to be induced....I hope she decides to come on her own at some point.

Thank you! I'm going to try rolling around on my exercise ball and some serious walking.

how do you know if your membranes were stripped?

I had an appt. today and the dr. was checking my dilation, but he rotated and stretched my insides with his hand and felt like he scooped me (hurt like HELL and I'm still cramping and bleeding from it)...

He said that he thinks I'll go into labor before Monday, but if not then they are inducing me next week!

She told me last week at my appointment that this week they were going to do it. Then today she asked me again if I wanted to have it done and she told me she was doing it...while she was doing it.

well she didn't really "scoop". She just pushed really far back and swept her fingers in a complete circle a couple times. But it did make me cramp really bad afterwards
