New birth control

posted 3rd Sep
I'm on Femcon.
But they make me sick and give me headaches still after being on it for 4 months.
I decided since I'm not living with my boyfriend currently, to just stop taking it because I know I won't be having sex anytime soon.
I got back to the doctor in October and i'm going to talk to him about changing my birth control.

For those of you that are on BC, what has been best for you?

I am on a mini pill. I thought about getting an iud, but I would want it out in a year, and I really don't know how I fell about having some piece of plastic in me for that long.

I never have good experiences with pills.
I haven't really heard anything good about the shot.
The implant is not an option.
They're is just something about inserting a plastic rod under my skin.

I have the Mirena, although now that I think about it the Nuvaring would have probably been a better idea since I'm only going to have the Mirena in for a total of about 10 months.. and it's usually used as long-term birth control. But I like it... my "periods" (if you could even call them that) are 3-4 days of LIGHT spotting... (if you could even call it THAT).. more like pink-tinged CM. I just use pantiliners. But, yeah, that rocks.

I've been on the shot before, which I liked, but I wouldn't want to do that now because it usually takes a long time after you stop getting it to conceive. And when I'm ready I don't want to wait! That's what I like about the Mirena.. you can potentially conceive during your next cycle.

I have also been on the pill but I can never remember to take them, and when I miss one I always start my period the next day.. so I end up being on my period more than I'm not, and that sucks.

After baby number 2 I probably won't even go back on BC, because I want number 3 close to number 2 (we are planning on starting for number 2 when number 1 is a year old, this January)

The only thing i'm worried about with the implanon is having a giant scar or something.
idk.
I'm weird.

I guess if I can get piercings and tattoos, I could probably stand getting that.
haha.

I'm leaning towards Mirena because I don't want another one until Hayden is 5.
