C-section & Sex....?
posted 3rd Sep '08
I had a c-section and I'm 3 weeks PP today, I went to the docs last week and everything looked good, my cut was healing nicely, and the doc asked if i had any questions..I tolder her "no" but I kinda did. I'm not really the shy type but for some reason I couldn't bring myself to ask her how soon it would be until i could have sex being that i was only 2 weeks pp at the time...lol Anyhow, I was wondering, how long did any ofyou mommas wait? And do you think there isa difference between the time you would wait ..whether you gave birth naturally or went under the knife? I probably won't try havinng sex until i
m 6 weeks pp anyway but i was just wondering, i have a docs appnt. next week and i'll talk to her then, but i'd like to know your experiences...and if any of you had sex before getting the docs approval..

Get the doctors approval before doing anything. They'll say six weeks, more than likely.
Having sex before hand can rupture your uterus. Causing you to hemorrhage and die, or not being able to have children anymore.

I will be 3 weeks PP on Friday and I was wondering the same thing. With my daughter I waited LONGER than 6 weeks, but this time around I'm already thinking about it!! lol! So I'm going to be watching this topic!!

I waited 3 weeks for both. I couldn't wait longer. And it HUUURRRRTTTT. But after a few times the pain subsided.
I don't know how it works with a c-section though. There are a lot of stitches involved with c-sections, I'd be careful and ask the Dr.
I had episiotomies with both, but after 3 weeks my stitches had dissolved. What hurts is inside, the canal, the baby rips through it. Not fun, but once you start it gets easier. Good luck!

I just had my 2nd C-Section on the 31st of August and again, she told me 4 - 6 weeks before any sexual activity.

I was told 6 weeks...
and considering I had the brillant idea .. that since I had a c-sec, and not natural birth , what harm would it be to use a tampon instead of pads.. let me tell you, that lasted no more than 10mins.. so sex.. not on my top things to do list, although I too am craving it... and am 3 weeks PP as well.
I'm waiting for the 6 week dr. appt before I try anything, jsut to make sure all is healed up and nothing tears open.
