Is it bad of me?

Is it wrong of me to ask the doctor for an induction date? I am not even sure if she will give me one. But my husband is being laid off from his job on the 15th of this month and I think it would help with starting a new job if he could tell them "Hey, just so you know, my wife is going to be having a baby on so and so day." That and my parents live in Florida and if I have an induction date they can make it for the birth.

Just wanted to know what everyone thought.

you can always ask. the worst they can say is no.

Induction should only be used for medical reasons. IMO I think its selfish, what happens if you induce and the baby isn't ready.

You can ask but most doctors will not unless it's medically necessary.

iMO....the baby should come when the baby is ready. After all, why would anyone risk having their child too early just so they can tell a boss or grandparents when their child is coming? Isn't that what due dates are for?!

You can ask and see what your DR says, but let me tell you, i asked for one at 39 weeks (because i was starting school) and my DR doesn't like to induce often unless he has too! good luck!

theres nothing wrong with asking.
the worst thing that your doctor can possibly say is no i cant give you that.

It wouldnt hurt to ask... It is up to you and how you feel about. The worst they can say is no. I have been having alot of problems so if my cervix is favorable my dr is inducing at 38 weeks

I asked for one with my last delivery because we had just moved 1500 miles and had nobody to watch our oldest. My doctor said no earlier than 39 weeks because of lung development and my sister flew out to watch Jaden the weekend before and stayed until we were home from the hospital and for a few days after.

you can always ask of course...but im not sure if your husband getting a new job is really cause for an induction. now before someone jumps me, yes i might be being a hypocrit (y cant i spell) becuase of what im doing...but my situation is a bit different. but yea...you can always ask

Ok, I am not saying I want to be induced early. But to maybe know that this kid will be here September 30th instead of waiting around. IMO I think you are kinda rude.

My doc has been throwing out the idea of a scheduled c-section for a while now due to the fact my first son was 9 lbs 8 ozs at 39 weeks. But I don't want a c-section unless this baby looks tobe larger than my first.

im gonna have to agree with abby on that part. you need to understand that if you say you wnat to know what everyone thinks....someone is bouond to say something you dont really like...

im not trying to be mean...just voicing my opinion as well
