The calm before the storm...

posted 2nd Sep
So lately, maybe the past 3 days, I've been feeling as normal as ever. Besides my huge belly, I don't really feel pregnant. I'm not sore anymore. I can actually get a nights worth of sleep. I've stopped gaining weight. I just feel like I did in my first trimester. While this is all lovely , I only have 9 days until my due date and I'm concerned about not having a SINGLE labor symptom. Could this be the calm before the storm? Have any of you ladies just went into labor...no signs, no symptoms, no warning? Just curious...

I didnt have a single symptom, I got checked just 3 days before i went into labor, and I had no signs of any dialation. Although I did lose my mucus plug the morning i went into labor and was having some light contractions the day before.

I did. I had absolutely no indications that I'd ever go into labor. I wasn't dilated at all. Apparently, my baby hadn't even dropped (or he kind of did and then moved back up) so my doctor couldn't even strip my membranes. I was ready to hurl myself into traffic I was so depressed about it all, lol. My due date came and went and nothing. For 8 days, absolutely nothing - no matter what I did. Then, upon someone's advice, I ate Caesar salad and that night, around 3 am I started having contractions, then at 8 am my water broke. But those last two weeks I suddenly felt relatively better than before (well except for the conviction that I'd be pregnant forever) .

I'm convinced I'll be pregnant forever already and my due date hasn't even come.   LOL. I give it to any woman who can go over her due date. Even though they are estimated times, you put all your hope into that one day and when it doesn't come until well after, it's a little disappointing until you get that baby in your arms.

Oh my...were you embarrassed or did you just walk out calmly? lol. I think I'd be jumping up and down making a fool of myself like, "YES YES YES! My water broke!"

BTW, I just noticed...great choice of a name for your baby! (Mine's also Julien, just spelled with an 'e'  )

The day before I had my youngest, my son, I went to the Dr. I was barely dialated. I took a walk, had sex, and slept like a BABY!!! At 5:30 am when my Hubbys alarm went off my water broke... THEN contractions started... not until then!!!
It could sneak up on you like it did me. I barely made it to the hospital!! My son was norn at 6:30 that morning, an hour total!! No time for ANY pain meds!
Could be the calm before the storm, as it was with me......Good Luck!!

This could quite possibly be the BEST labor situation ever! I wish I could choose for this to happen to me. LOL

Looking back on it, it was AWESOME!!! But, I remember the hour of pain, and how afraid I was. I mean, I woke up, stood up, and my water broke!! So, my Hubby called his mom and she came over, followed us to the hospital and the STOPPED FOR COFFFEE on the way!!! We were at UDF, they were inside, I was in the car holding onto the dash with every contraction!! I could have KILLED them!! Once we got to the Hospital, they checked me, switched rooms, I labored for 5 more minutes, then the ER doc had to come in and deliever my son. She didnt even have time to fully prepare!!!

I honestly think I'd take that one hour of pain and having my son that fast rather than having to be induced and it taking hours or maybe even days. You were really lucky.

P.S. That's something my mom would do, stop for coffee. When she was in labor with my sister, she took a shower, did her hair and make-up and then went out to eat. LOL. She went to the hospital and in 3 pushes, my little sister was here.

I had to switch Drs with this one because we moved from Ohio to Kentucky..... so once I told her about my last one she said that once I hit 36 or 37 weeks she will break my water in the office so we can prepare. Plus, if that were to happen again it could cause a TON of damage to my body, or the baby. I'd be happy with another quick delivery though. I felt SO great afterwards..... better than my other 2 that I had epis with
