Nathan is almost 6 months and still not trying to crawl at all. it all depends on the baby. and talking depends too. my nephews are 14mos old and dont say a word. on the other hand, my younger sister said mama and dada around 9mos old. it takes a while for them to sleep through the night-longer if you are breastfeeding because breastfed babies cant go too long without eating at a young age. just wait, it will happen! nathan started around 3 and a half months. I would suggest reading the book Baby Wise. Some moms will disagree but its basically how to put your baby on a schedule. it worked for us!

Oh hunny don't keep that lil one up during the day. That is only going to make her overly tired and more cranky. It will also make her sleep less. Babies in the first 3 months sleep between 12-18 hours a day usually closer to 18. They need that sleep to help their bodies grow. They normally start to coo and make noises at you between 1-2 months and start crawling anywhere from 6-9 months. Please let you baby sleep, I promise she will sleep better at night if you let her make her own schedule

**EDIT** to say eventually her schedule will catch up with your schedule at night, it just takes a while..especially for breastfed babies. My lil one started off with only sleeping 2 hours at a time the first month and now he does about 4 hours at a time   It all works itself out. And he is strictly breastfed too.

she is a month old, shes going to be awake at night because babies confuse night and day.

Autumn is almost 7 months old and she creeped/crawled for the first time a couple days ago, so you have a "long" way to go--but time will fly, believe me!

as for talking, youre a long way from hearing her first words, and the age that they begin to talk is different for every baby.

Believe me momma, cherish this time you have with her now, because it will be gone all too soon....

oh yeah, i forgot to say that too....dont keep her up during the day!!! she literally needs her sleep! i hate when i hear that new parents are trying to get their newborn on a schedule so soon (not saying thats what youre doing..), babies do what they do when they do it for a reason!

My advice is try a baby oil massage, bath, then bed.. My son is 1 1/2 months and he will sleep between 7-9 hours a night.. He is also formula fed which makes a difference.. I dont do the massages and baths everynight, but when I do he sleeps hard and for a long time... Your baby already has his/herself on their own schedule.. They have been inside you for 9 months and dont know the difference between day and night.. Give it time.. All babies are so different!!!

ok thanks...i notice that she is cranky at times...but i thought that if u would keep her up more during the day that maybe she will sleep more at night...but i guess she will just learn by herself

she is a month old...

they will mostly sleep and for the baby to sleep through the night? It take a few month. Mine selpt through the night at almost 4 months.. she gets a good 12 hours a day ;)

so let your little one sleep when he/she is sleepy. Don't keep him/her up so that way they will seep through the night.. your child is a month old ;0)

as for crawling, Josephine was 6.5 months, and walking? well she started to stand at 7 months and took her first 2 steps three weeks ago. Now she takes 8 steps and falls... its cute

and she is a year old now

I know in our minds that makes sense   But babies are the total opposite of us. I know it can be hard, and my lil one will be 8 weeks tomorrow so I'm still pretty much going through the sleep issues too. Last night he was up again every 2 hours, and for someone like me who has a hard time falling asleep that meant about an hour and half of sleep before he was up again. And then he gets a diaper change and feeds for about 20-30min. So that puts me up for 30-45 min then trying to fall asleep for 15min. and then getting woke up to a hungry baby an hour or two later! I am exhausted, but I also know that when he gets like this it is usually b/c he's going through a little growth spurt. Him being my 4th baby I've learned a lot about babies patterns and habits! So just give your little girl time to adjust to the real world. She may sleep only a few hours at a time, but eventually she will get on a schedule and start to sleep more at night.
It helps if you start a night time routine, here are a few things I do. During the day when he naps, I put him to nap in the livingroom where there is light coming in from outside b/c our room is dark day or night (gotta be that way  ) In the evening usually around 9pm I start getting him ready for bed, it is usually his next to last feeding at that time so I make sure it is a quite feeding to start calming him. Around 10pm he gets a warm bath and fresh diaper, or a wipe down and fresh diaper. Then I sing to him and rock him for a little bit. Sometime between 10:30-11:00pm he gets his next feeding in a quiet dim lit room and then he's usually down for the night   At that point he normally sleeps until 2:30am but sometimes until 3:30 or 4am YAY! Maybe start trying a little routine yourself to get her calm before bedtime. And in a few weeks you will probably notice a big difference   Good luck momma!
