Should I, Or Shouldn't I?

so me and my bf have been having this ongoing debate about wat to name the baby if it's a boy. (i'm not far enough along to know the sex yet) But if it were a boyhe would LOVE to name him after him. And NO OFFENSE whatsoever to ppl who do name their son's after their boyfriend/husband (please don't chew me out on this)but personally I think it's a little boring and predictable. I think a name says a lot about a person and I'd want him to have his own identity and not always be identified or compared to his dad. So any suggestions on how to convince my bf to go the other route and pick a different name?? Or should I cave in and say for foget it and just name him after his dad?? (because of this, I'm hoping it's a girl so that we dont have to keep arguing about it)

no way! he's already getting daddy's last name. A baby deserves his/her own name!

If he really won't move on the subject, maybe try using his first name as that baby's middle name or something?

freaking A, my husband and I fought like none other about this one! We finally decided to name him the name he goes by, a middle name we agreed on, and have him go by his middle name, and not "DaDa's" name lol.

lmao! My nephews (yeah 2), brother-in-law and HIS dad all have the same first name...Talk about a family tradition! It is tacky to name a baby after a parent...put daddy's name as the middle name and choose something that will fit your child!

I wanted to name my son after his daddy, but my fiance hates his name so refused.. even said if I put that on his birth certificate as his name he wouldnt sign it...lol so I made him figure out a name... I dunno I think its special for a daddy to have a jr.. My brother is a jr and loves it..I dunno why his dad is an idiot..lol

im against naming babies after family members. (unless they have passed and its a memorial thing...)

my cousin is named after her grandmother and it started a war between family members

scotts middle name is ronald after his dad and he hates it lol

I Think The Lil One Should Have His Own Unique Name..Naming Your Kid After The Father Is Boring HaHa Ladiez Dont Chew Me Out.. lol

I never liked it when people named there children after them, however I did give my youngest daughter her middle name because she has always been there for me in my time of need. But making a kid a JR, to me just isn't being creative enough. They are already getting the last name from the father. I would tell him that if he wanted to do that than you are giving the baby your last name....lol I don't think that he will like it much but since you aren't married you can do it and there is nothing that he can do about it. I would argue that subject with him and see what he says, I am sure he will change his mind after awhile in fear that you will actually do it!

My boyfriend's a third so of course everyone thought my son would be the fourth. Not! I wasn't having it, and I eventually convinced my boyfriend that he should have his own name. They have the same middle name but that's it. My future FIL still hates me for that!
