What would a class really teach? I mean, there are thousands on the road driving who have taken classes and apparantly it has made no impact.

Then you have things to consider like: What constitutes as a good parent?

Income of minimul of 100K a year?
Spanking? No spanking?
"Natural" parenting?
et cetera....

The point is, we can all be different in our parenting skills, morals/values, and so forth and still bring up great adults.

I also find it ironic that so many support this hypothetical idea, while it wasn't so hypothetical with Hitler forcing sterilizations on people!

Hitler was doing it to breed a certain race and look of people. I thought it would be a good idea so that there aren't so many bad parents and uncared for children

They also did it to expand knowledge on the reproductive system. Sick, but it happened. Either way, it was mass sterilization based on the agenda of others.

Trust me, I know this woman who is closing in on 40, is preggo with her third child and is a huge, hot mess. Each kid has a different father. The oldest boy (who is 8-9) tells me about how disgusting his apartment is with vermin and he chooses to live with his grandma. The younger boy obviously has developmental delays and the woman is in denial and won't look into early intervention programs (which are 100% free!). Then, she's pregnant, smokes and is trying to get fired so she can collect unemployment. I could go on and on about this girl. IMO, she shouldn't be having this third child, because she doesn't take care of the two she already has. At the same time, it's not my uterus.

Stories like this break my heart. Life is so unfair like that.  

I think one of the biggest miracles in some parents' lives are unplanned pregnancies. Mine wasn't planned, nor would I have already applied for one of those things you are talking about... but I know this child will change my life, and I'm so grateful that she will be a part of it.

I think that's really not a good idea.

I am sure some of the greatest people alive were not "planned' babies.
Also, I wouldn't want the government having that much say over my body.
