im 39 1/2 weeks due wednessday. and i was checked yesterday and i wass dilated one and 80% thinned out. but since yesterday i been having period like cramps and they are stronger today and they seem to hurt more when i walk around. and i know everyone asks oh is ur stomach hard. My stomachs been hard like a rock for about 2 weeks now. but i was wondering could this be the start of early labor.. or is it just false labor.. i would call my midwife but shes mean last time i called she cut me off while i was explaing and said we will talk at ur next appt and hung up on me.. so i kind of rely on baby gaga for help cause she doesnt help me at all..

I'd say call L&D if your midwife is no help.
That's what I did when I was getting what I thought was contractions,
and I didn't want to bug my midwife. (i'm a realllly shy person.)
They were a big help.

are the pains distinct? like can you tell when you are having one and when not?

They make it SUPAH easy to time contractions. I had to use it one time when I thought I was having contractions... *LABOR DUST*** I'm betting you're sending that baby an eviction notice by now

period like cramps and often the urge to feel like you have to poop

If they are painfull and feel like really bad cramps they are contractions. Watch them see how close together they are and if they are 5-6 mins just go in!

yea they deff are painfull.. not unbarable but i know when they come and go. they arent 5 minuttes apart yet.. but thanks thats a great help

you're due the same day as me  And I'm not feeling anything but frustration at waiting!!

And my doc has never checked for dialation or effacement  I think I need a new doc!
