swelling! Normal or not please let me know!

I am 36 wks 1 cm and 80% effaced and I have just noticed that my labia is very swollen! 2 times normal size at least! I am wondering what would cause this and if I need to call my dr.!?

Your blood flow is going to your groin, it happens when you're in the third trimester. It's normal, everything is getting ready for baby to come out. There should be more blood going to your uterus/cervix/groin, because that's where it needs to be for labour.

i would call. probably nothng serious though. Mine was like that a couple days after i gave birth for some reason.

Have you had any intercourse? The vagina area gets really sensitive when a woman is pregnant. Any kind of friction can cause swelling be it intercourse or your underwear. If you have any discharge that is yellow or foul smelling then it may be that you have an infection.

i was really swollen during labor. its completely normal. nothing to worry about. if there arent any other symptoms than you should just relax
