so we are day number three. He has not pooped in three days is this ok? Should I be concerned? He is breastfeed only and 2 months old.

it is fine. give him at least a few more days. and expect a blow out   you can try giving him a warm relaxing bath, try taking his temp rectally, or doing some tummy massages(rub clockwise). other than that i wouldnt worry unless it has been like a week.

When my daughter was about 6 weeks old we went through a spell where she had not pooped in over a week. I was worried beyond words about her. I spoke with her doc and she told me that it is ok for babies that age to go awhile without pooping. She told me that they use more of the nutrients of the food they get (i.e. breast milk) and dont have as much waste as we do. I know that when my daughter finally was able to go, there was a horrid blowout. We gave her a warm bath and I snuck in white grape juice in the bottle with expressed breast milk. But I dont think i would be worried unless he seemed uncomfortable.

yeah do what lola says

with the tummy massage.. make sure you start from the right hip and go around under the ribs. and end back at the right hip
gently
it really does help

breast ffed babies, they can go 5-8 days with out pooping.
but docs say to call after 5 days have gone by
my doc also suggested 2 oz of warm water and a pinch of brown sugar. but i would ask your doc about that before doing it
diluted apple or prune (baby juice) could help too.. but again ask your doc

good luck

Thanks ladies for the help. I will try the light rubbing on his tummy. My hands are cold right now and he got mad when I touched him when I just changed his diaper lol

yeah and plus those kinds of oils are better for their skin and body, they dont have anything that would be unhealthy if it got into the baby's bloodstream

exactly!!! i love how coconut oil makes them all tired right before bedtime..   but i dont massage either one of the kids much in the summer because its too hot here for that
but winter time. its perfect.. keeps their sking smooth and warm!
