Im suppose to be 14 wks due Feb 28. at my 10 wk chekup i had "normal" brown spotting when they tried to get the heart beat they told me it was just stubborn and they couldnt get it. Here I am at 14 wks and I started bleeding last night. More than spotting less than period. I went to ER they did an ultrasound and said the baby was the size of a 6wk old but my uterus was the size of a 9 week old but still no heartbeat. They said my hcg levels were fine though. But they realy didnt know what was goin on to follow up on tuesday with my OB for a repeated ultrasound. Im so terrified that i lost my baby weeks ago but yet it hasnt passed yet..

I am not a doctor, but I can only be honest. It sounds to me like you have lost or are losing your baby. Thats only my opinion.
I am really sorry, I know you have to be scared.

That is interesting. I've never heard of that before. They didn't have any answers for you? Have you tried googling it to see what you can find online?

I have tp agree with Kelli Jo. If the baby is measuring 6 weeks and you are 14 weeks along and they cannot find a heartbeat, it seems like you may be miscarrying.
I'm really sorry. Hopefully things works out for you but def. see your doctor as soon as possible. The HCG levels don't mean much right now.

Thats what I thought If they couldnt hear the heartbeat with a doppler they should have been able to see it in the ultrasound right?

I have seen this before. My mom talked to a girl in Walmart the other day that sees my idiot doctor. She was measuring really behind like this, but her HCG was going up. The doctor said to abort, but the girl refused, I think they could see a heartbeat on hers, though.

She's now due a week behind me and her baby is healthy. They waited it out because of her HCG levels. But it can go either way. That's why the ER didn't give a definate answer... they can only tell you what they see, pregnancy isn't their specialty so they don't want to give false hope or tell you something bad if it's fine.

I will keep you in prayers and I wish the best for you.

This isn't going to make you feel better, but something very similar happened to my friend. Her baby was measuring weeks smaller and her uterus was measuring slightly under where it should be. I believe she was technically 12 weeks, baby was measuring about 7 weeks her uterus was measuring about 10 weeks. The drs brought her in three times to find a heartbeat but never could. They set up her up to get a dnc checked one last time for a heartbeat and then informed her the child had died back around 7 weeks that her uterus and body was acting and going along with being pregnant although she no longer was. I'm so sorry for you. This was her experience, hopefully your will turn out better.

I'm so sorry you're going through this.   I had a missed miscarriage in May. It is possible to have your body continue on as if nothing is wrong, even making HCG so your blood tests look normal. I hope that this is not happening to you. The ultrasound should give you more answers than this. See your doctor and demand some information! My miscarriage was confirmed because we had heard a heartbeat previously and did not hear one at my 10 week appointment. I was also measuring 10 days behind throughout the pregnancy, which I am convinced now was a sign (although the doc said it was normal).

This is a really difficult thing to go through (to say the least) and my thoughts are with you.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. If the u/s is accurate, it sounds like a :missed miscarriage". It's when your body doesn't realize that your baby has passed but carries on as if you still pregnant, I had one three years ago but found out sooner. My baby died at about 6 weeks, but I didn't find out until 8 weeks only because I was having spotting. They did an u/s which confirmed I was having a missed miscarriage. Even though my baby had passed at 6 weeks, my body kept on as though I was pregnant. I was fatigued and had morning sickness that got worse day by day.

I'm sorry you are going through this.
