torn placenta- help!

I am 14 weeks pregnant and went to the ER yesterday-- I just had a weird feeling something was wrong when i saw a little pink when i wiped... it was barely noticeable, but this is my first and any little thing freaks me out  . so, they did an ultrasound and the baby is fine, perfect in fact. However it appears that i have a torn placenta, on the bottom, about 1 cm in length. The dr told me that i am ot be on bedrest for one week, only getting up to go to the bathroom. He says he is hoping it will heal in htis week. I am really worried that i might have caused this due to all the exrcise ive been doing... has anyone ever had this before or know anything about it?? im so worried im going to b eon bed rest the rest of my pregnancy! any information will help, please!

my midwife told me to stop lifting things because I could have had the same problem- 50 lb puppy, boxes and things cuz we're moving tomorrow (look at me pack! Lol!) and so on, so it's possible if you've been doing a lot of stuff that works your abs that it's related to that.

In a lot of cases it does heal up on its own. I read up on it, and it indicated that in almost all cases it heals up on its own. Maybe not in a week, but probably in the next couple of weeks.

I am finishing up my week of bedrest too for the same thing. I am just about 17 weeks along and had an episode of bleeding a couple weeks ago. The baby was fine and nothing could explain my bleeding at that time. Again last week, I was bleeding as though I had my period throughout the night. I was also concerned about cramping, but the doctor reassured me that it could be from the irritation from the tear. Very scary, but I've felt good this week and am looking forward to returning to work!
