Has anyone ever taken their baby to a movie?

posted 30th Aug
My oldest is gone for the first time, this weekend. He went to seaworld with his grandparents and aunt.

We want to go see a movie today. Its around the babies nap time. So I know he will sleep. Has anyone ever done that? We just never have before.

you can try. It will just depend on him. If he will like the loud noise or not. But if he is used to loud noise i think he will be fine.

Please just promise that as soon as the baby starts to cry you take him out   There is nothing more annoying than a baby crying while people are trying to watch a movie and the parents just sit there for like 5 minutes trying to get the baby to stop crying! LOL All the loud noises will probably wake him anyway. Not trying to be rude, but thats JMO.

Out of respect to the other patrons, no I've never brought a baby to a theatre. Perhaps you can maybe see if you can get a babysitter during the nap time so you dont have to worry about bringing a baby to the theatre?

We want to but we won't risk embarrasing ourselves. So, everytime we go to movies, his grandparents watch him for us. Once, he starts crying you can't easily control the situation.

I brought Alayna with me to a theatre when she was 4.5 months old but she already had a perfect reputation for never crying so I knew it wouldn't be a problem. I was also breastfeeding so it was super easy to keep her quiet, lol. We also made sure that it would be a very slow day in regards to other patrons and there were very few people in there. I would've taken her to the back immediately if she had made a peep.

I've taken my son once but it was a kids movie and a matinée. The movie had been out for awhile and there wern't many people there. I would be iffy about taking a infant to an adult movie just because I know I would get annoyed if a baby started crying during it. I understand babies cry but I paid money to watch the movie. At a kids movie it's more expected to hear a couple whines.

We do all the time. Since he was just a few weeks. He's now 4 moths. He sleeps through the whole thing. He's never cried. Never. As soon as he starts to toss around, boob goes in the mouth. We also wait til its nap time or bedtime. He is on a strict schedule so he is used to sleeping at specific times. Also I wear him, which I've noticed, helps.

I was just thinking of this today! I can imagine why some cinemas wouldn't let u bring ur babe in, but maybe in the afternoon? I went so much when I was preggo, I wonder if he's already used to it?

Well I know they let you bring babies.

I would take him outif he started to get fussy. He has never really cried, he is always happy. When he does get upset he is a soft fussier. I got lucky with this one. lol

It is a 3pm showing and the movie has been out a couple of weeks. So I would assume we might even be the only people in there. Usually we are. Well our best friends our going with us.

Since the grandparents and the famare in orlando, with our other son. There is no sitter option.

We have a movie set up here at the house. So he is use to the loud movies. He has been awake since 9am and it is now 130. So hopefully I can keep him up a bit longer and he will be out by then.

Of course you could. You just get up. But my son doesn't really cry, more so than a fuss. So I am not worried about him crying. He is a really good baby. My friend jokes that I have him on zoloft, because he is so damn happy.
