If you and your SO both have blue eyes, the eye color will not change except possibly to another shade of blue depending on what your shades are. Two recessive genes (blue) can't produce a dominant gene (brown).

My son is 8 months old and is eyes are still changing. The keep getting brighter blue. It's strange too considering neither me nor my husband have blue eyes. He's our little blue eyed freak of nature.

An infant's eye color is determined by a substance called melanin. Melanin is a dark pigment contained in the iris, the structure that controls how much light is allowed into the eye. The color of the iris is determined by the amount of melanin in the iris. Light eyes have very little pigment, whereas darker eyes have a lot. In newborns, the pigmentation process of the iris is not yet complete. Babies with darker skin are usually born with dark eyes that stay relatively dark. Iris color in lighter-skinned babies is usually a blue or bluish-gray color at birth, then change as they grow. Melanin production changes during the first year of life, usually resulting in a darker, deeper eye color.
Permanent eye color is not set until a baby is at least nine months old, so wait until your child's first birthday to determine what color they will be. An infant's eye color is influenced by the eye color of their parents. Eye color is often studied in the field of genetics because of its inheritance patterns, but is still not fully understood.

Two brown eyed people CAN have a blue eyed child. It just doesn't work the other way around. My 2 cents from a genetics class I took once. Two blondes can't have a brunette either.

I know they can, my son is proof.   My husband has green eyes and mine are hazel(brown and green). It's strange you say it's impossible for 2 blue eyed parents to have a brown eyed baby because my mother has brown eyes even though both my grandparents have blue.

lol...the same with my son! my husband and i both have brown eyes, and my son has blue/grey colored eyes! the funny thing is, in my family the first born child always has the blue/grey eyes, and the rest have brown!
