babys first cold =( help?!

My son is 9 months and has his first cold. Hes wheezing a little, coughing, sneezing with clear boogies & congested. I have the humifier up and running what else can I do?!!

take him to the doctor, my daughter has her first cold as well & they put her on antibiotics for it. If he just started daycare like mine, this isn't the end of it.

Lots of fluids, lots   Hope he gets better! The good news is~ if his snot is clear there's no infection! You could try a warm bath as well. If it is just a regualr cold, alot of times pediatrician will say ride it out.

COLD + Antibiotics = NO no!

Antibiotics are not for viruses, they are for bacterial infections. Colds are from viruses. If you use antibiotics when they are not necessary your child will develop and immunity to them and they won't work when you really need them to!

I took my kids in and our doc prescribed a medicine called Ceron DM. It's a decongestant, cough suppresant, and antihistamine. It's a prescription so it's appropriate for infants. My son is almost 10 months. Now I just call my doc over the phone when we need it and he calls it in. Both my kids are sick now and it sucks. Elliott wouldn't even eat yesterday but he drank a WHOLE bottle this morning. Thank goodness.

I get viral infections alot~ last one I was 20 weeks pregnant~ I got nothing~ best thing for a virus is fluids to flush it out

Is SUCKS being pregnant and getting sick. There is NOTHING you can take!!!! The crap they told me to take wouldn't even help.

I have only taken antibiotics once since being pregnant~ that was when I tested + for GBS @ 12 weeks, I was on Keflex~ Had I not been pregnant the last time I got the viral,I wouldn't have even gone to the Dr. The only other thing I have used is Flonase (twice)~ when my allergies acted up. Other than that I don't even take tylenol.

My back hurt a lot and I tried Tylenol and it didn't help, so I quit taking that. And since I had him I am so sensitive to medicine. I hardly take it anymore now.

Before I got pregnant I was having migraines like 3 times a week ~ I was taking migraine formula aspirin~ I dreaded not being able to take it~ but I think alot of it had to do with the fact that I smoked~ since I've been pregnant I quit smoking & the migraines are gone!
