UGHHH dr. office not open till TUESDAY!

gah i know its early.
but... Kaleb has had this nasty ass cough for over a week now.. he got a cold THREE weeks ago... it subsided after a few days and he just had a little baby cough.. nothing big.. well it started to get mucusy and he starts to wheeze sometimes... this happened this past sunday.

I took him to the dr. on tuesday... the stupid dr. told me it wasn't a big deal, it was just the tail end of the cold [that he had two weeks before? ok.] and to wait it out.. if not better by the weekend to call him.

HMMMMM okay let me call you on a saturday, when your office isn't open? right. [im rather ticked @ this dr., he pretty much blew me and kaleb off.]

well the dr. office [well.. any office.. im not going back to the previous dr.] wont be open till tuesday because of the long holiday weekend.

kaleb is still coughing.. he doesn't wheeze ALL the time... mostly when he has some mucus stuck in his chest or throat or w/e.. but i can feel the wheezing in his back.. the dr. told me it was all in the top of his chest/throat.. but i can feel it in his back.... so idk.. im not a dr but it just does't seem right.

idk what i should do... should i bring him into urgent care or something? i just dont want this to be something serious and 'just wait it out' and it end up even worse. bub isn't suuuper fussy.. i mean he is.. but idk if it is b/c he is teething or what... or if his throat hurts or something.

take him to the emergency room it could be pneumonia.. when my baby was 2 months old the she was wheezing and coughing so bad that she couldnt catch her breath and ended up having a seizure and had to spend time in the hospital so if i were you i would have it checked out and not put off good luck

yeah take him my daughter was borderline phenmonia but took the dr so long cause it was always "just a cold" finally I took her in I felt so bad cause I left her off any meds so they could see everything wrong with her and they heard a slight wheezeing took weeks for them to figure it out just be persistant. mother instinct is there for a reason u may over react or undrr but doesn't mean there's not something wrong. get the room quiet and put ur ear to his back make sure u hear the wheezeing not just congestion

he if a tad fussy. but nothing over the top.

im gona call the emergency line and and talk to the nurse on call at my dr... then take him in.
my MIL said the same thing happened to Tim when he was a baby and it ended up being pnenmonia also.

Elliott is the EXACT SAME right now. I called the hospital nurses station 3 times yesterday!!! I just talked to a nurse each time and they were really nice. E is even running a fever and they said it's probably just a virus. He is super congested, cough, and really mucousy-wheezy breathing. He doesn't really wheeze though. It's a chest congested wheeze. I was worried about his breathing last night and almost went in with him. But he finally fell asleep and slept all night. I haven't given him any tylenol since yesterday and his fever is only 100 this morning, rather than over 101. I hope it stays there without the medicine. Our doc did call in Ceron DM to help with the cough and everything else. So, at least he can eat. He didn't have a drop of formula yesterday and this morning he drank a whole bottle. I think calling is a good idea so you don't waste your money only to have them send you home and do what you already are doing. But if he gets worse or you are worried, take him.

thats how kaleb wheeze is.. like a congested mucusy wheeze.
but it was fine last week.. just a little dry cough.. then sunday it got really icky.. the dr said it was the last of a cold.. but i dont like having a cold last 3 weeks w/ my baby.. 3 weeks!
the dr. said he wasn' worried b/c kaleb was sleeping and eating fine. i'll just call and see what they say.. they'll prob say they wana see him to listen to his chest like the last dr said... even though he barley did.

How's he doing? Elliott is so much better tonight! Hecut his first tooth last night!
