Just wondering if anyone knows...

Does anyone know when your babies cord comes off what its suppose too look like after because mines fell off this am and its bloody is that normal?

How old is your baby? My daughter lost hers @ 11 days, but I don't think it was bloody~ it usually falls off when it is dried up, so it's dead. She had maybe a tiny spot on her belly button that was blood (like a pin prick) but that was only because her stump got caught on her towel after bath & it came off.

he will be 3 weeks on tues but it just dosent look right too me its a lil bloody but isnt it normal for it too leak for a few days after and can u give a bath now or should i still wait??

You can give him a bath as soon as the stump falls off~ If it doesn't look right, take him in to see a Dr. It's been awhile since my daughter was a baby, I just don't remember hers leaking.

Its normal. They usually recommend you wait on baths until its totally healed though. I, however, did not wait... and his belly button is perfectly normal.  
If your worried though, call your pedi. Being a new mommy, I harass them all the time & it always makes me feel alot better.  

the cord stump will look a little raw for a day or two.
Then you will find it just looks like a little dried blood in the belly button.
I use alco-wipes on my babies tums until it looks clean.

Just watch out for inflammation/reddening or offensive smelling discharge around the navel, if you are in any doubt at all consult your doc asap.

they also say stay off the baths.. it needs to dry out..

My daughters fell off at 2 weeks. It was bleeding a little before it fell off so I called her doctor and they said its normal. It looks perfectly fine now. Oh and dont get it wet, save baths for after it falls off.
