Custody??

Okay this may be a dumb question but if you are married and the father isn't in the picture really could you file for custody befoer you divorced/ seperated from them?

i think you could if you had proof he is a bad father, like bashed/abused them, but i dont know sorry im no help hun

Yes you can file for custody before you get divorced.

You can file for emergency custody if you're legally seperated, but if you're not legally seperated I don't believe so...

It's like an order that gives you temporary custody untill you can go to court. Also, if he's left you you can file "abandonment" which I believe will also give you custody.

No, no no... I won't give you crap. I just left my husband about a month or so ago for the same reasons!

Mine was in the airforce a while ago, but not currently in the military. Mine kinda withdrew and was financially abusive after I had our son. We had an issue about a year ago where he laid his hands on me, and I had him put in the clink. After that, things seemed to be going fine untill he started his shit up again a few months ago. I got tired of it b/c he loaned money to someone without even telling me and was breaking into my personal online stock account to make trades with my money (they were good plays, but still!). I left him after that. I was just sick of it. We're actually getting along better now adays, I still love the bastard but I don't think I could ever go back to living that way.

yeah he cut me off financially (all because I am starting to stand up for myself now and he doesn't like that very much)and he knows that I am currently out of work due to the baby.....

I understand that. See, me and Rick get along NOW. We live pretty close to eachother, and he's a GREAT father, just a shitty ass husband.
