this freaked me out (warning)

sooo we just moved to a different town, and when we were out looking for houses we passed by a cemetary...we decided to have a look around cause it was quite lovely and peaceful..a ways down the path i notice in the distance a HUGE section like miles upon miles of just tiny little markers, not really graves really..and i thought.. hmm a war memorial?
but as we got closer it was a section called babyland.
i started crying my eyes out. it was horrible there were so many. i mean so many more babies than adults. the ratio was outrageous. I have no clue how on earth in this small town, in all of its history could that many babies have died.

then a week later i read an article on how rural communities have many more infant deaths..
and i started crying again.

I think it's weird how they called it baby land like a theme park , all willy nilly.

That's really sad , though.

probably because the lack of medical care or even emergency medical care....still its very sad  

Wow, that's SO sad...I wonder why the rate of infant mortality is higher in rural communities...

Ohhh I just watched something on the news about that! As soon as you said the tiny little markers, babyland popped into my head. That's so sad though.

Younger moms or "teen moms" who wait until they pop a baby out to get medical care. A lot of them don't see a doctor at all and have premature babies.

There's probably more deaths in smaller towns because they don't have the money or resources that a large town would have. They're probably a little more dated in all of their care.

i lived there till i was 14 and all my family lives there..

yeah which has been so scary cause theyve screwed up with me at this hospital a few times already and my doctor keeps forgetting i have heart problems.

Apparently they changed it a couple years ago...I left Lawton in 05 to move to Hawaii but my hubby till lived there till 06, so I think it changed then...dont know what its called now, but its a stupid name...hahaha
