Family babysitting vent
posted 29th Aug
Today I had a few errands to run. I was going to bring my son with me but my husbands grandmother said she wanted to see Tyler and spend time with him. Okay... not a big deal. I figure great, I can do my shopping and errands and not worry about rushing to get in and out. Mind you, this woman isn't really old either... she is only 63. ANYWAY... I was gone for about 2 hours & 15 mins. Well about 3 mins (seriously) before I turn down their road she calls my cell asking if my son can have carrots to eat. I said no... then I was like "baby food carrots or carrot-carrots?" she said babyfood... I thought about it and said no anyhow because I only give my son 1 jar of baby food a day (which he already had) and the rest is milk. Besides, I was just around the corner. We hung up, I get there, I go inside and Tyler is SCREAMING. She tells me he has been fussy and she thinks he is hungry which is why she wanted to give him carrots. I said "Did he not get a bottle?" She said no he hadn't. I said "well you could have made him a bottle to eat" she tells me she didn't think she could.... ????!!!!?????!!!! WHAT?! You didn't think you could make my son a bottle? I promise you are allowed to feed my son his milk! GOOD LORD! So I snatch him up to nurse him and she goes on to tell me that he had a big poopy and she wanted to make sure I knew she was the one who changed it. Alright... thanks? I'm appreciative you changed him out of his poop filled diaper.....After he ate I changed his diaper only to find a red bottom and poop still in his crack...... so, she didn't wipe him off very well and my poor child sat with poo chunk on him until I changed him. She isn't allowed watching him anymore. That may sound over the top and like I'm being dramatic, but she didn't feed him and didn't change him well.... those are two basics for infants.
Yes, I am thankful she watched him while I ran errands but in the end I would have rather had him with me and monitored his food and diapers and been rushed rather than have a hungry diaper-rashed son.
Had to vent.

your not being over dramtic mothers are protective over their children for a reason. I had a misscariage and left my daughter with my sister who has 2 kids so I could go the er figureing it was the best place so she could play ect when I picked her up she wasn't changed but I thought ok no biggy even thoug I was gone 4 hours my sis said she was great played whole time with her cusions ect find out later my brother inlaw asked me not to have her back over cause she screamed the whole time and his kids where napping wtf I don't get people who lie cause u know I'd get oh so mad if she told me that had happened? no but she hasn't been allowed to watch my daughter since and she doesn't get why. yes family is the best people to help with ur kid but can also be the worst.you might feel bad later if she tries and guilt you to watch your baby again but stick to your guns
