posted 29th Aug
Has anyone whose had a C-section been ristricted from eating certain things like eggs and greasy food stuff like that. My fam is telling me I should this. I asked m Dr. he said there was no diet. Just wondering if anyone has heard of stuff like this and if it's some true to it. Thanks.

i think maybe your family is reccomending because it may be hard to go to the bathroom afterwards with being so sore from the surgery ? i have no idea if its not for that reason

We don't send our patients home on special diets at all. Just weight restrictions.

I've had a c-section before with my son and they never put me on a special diet or anything just the day of the surgery the doctor said i couldn't eat anythingat all( b/c they don't want the anesthesia to counteract with anything you've eaten)

Nah, I was told that if you eat eggs it takes longer for ur incision to heal cause it does something to it. Is just that my family is use to old customs from our Country they do all these home remedies that they believe. That's all. Thanks tho.

oh and btw... after the surgery make sure you eat lots of fiber... b/c you WILL need it. my body went through 'shock' and it was very painful to do anything let alone go to the bathroom

Take colace too! That helps with the whole softening of your stool and doesn't make it so ridiculous hard (no pun intended) to drop the kids off at the pool.

Yes, I wasn't allowed to eat for 24 hours and then could only have things like soup and jello for 24 hours after that. The medical staff said it was because digestion basically stops during the surgery and it would be too hard on my system to jump right into normal foods again.

Right after my csection I was on a liquid diet and was only allowed to eat jello and chicken broth. Once I had my first bowel movement though they changed my diet to solids and said it was fine for me to eat anything I wanted, but to hold off sodas or anything that could make me gassy.
