Hayden is here!!!

Well my newest little preincess is finally here!! I went up for a check on Friday. Doc told me I was 2 cms and 50% effaced. He swept my membranes and that night I had a few more contractions than normal, but that was it. On Saturday night I started losing my mucous plug and had a few more contractions. I was hoping to go into labour, but it never happened over the weekend. I was scheduled for another checkup on Monday. The Doc said well lets see if you have made any more progress. I had gone from 2 to 3 cms. He asked me if I wanted him to sweep my membranes again and I said you might as well. On the hour drive home I had two contractions and told my hubby that they were not BH contractions, this might be it. Of course we still travelled all the way home. As the evening went on I had a lot of rectal pressure and back pressure as well as increasingly painful and more regular contractions. Finally at 9:30 we left to take the hour drive back to the hospital. When the doc checked me at 11:00 I was 5 cms dilated. It took until 2:11 until they said I could push. And then at 2:14 (3mins later) Hayden Kristina Hagel was born. Sheis absolutley perfect. I started hemmoraging (sp?)so they had to call in the gynecologist. A piece of my placenta, about the size of a grapefruit, had torn away from the rest of it. Thankfully they were able to find it and get it out they said or otherwise I would have ended up in the OR. I did lose a lot of blood, but luckily I didn't need a blood transfusion. I am now on antibiotics to combat and prevent any bacterial infection caused by the doc and the gynecologist digging around in my uterus, as well asan iron supplement so I don't become anemic. Hopefully I will get a chance to get some pics posted soon!!

She was 8 lbs. 4 oz. and 20-1/2 inches long. She scored an 8 and a 9 on her apgar tests. Oh yeah she had pooped before she was born too, but luckily she hadn't swallowed any and was totally fine!

She is definitley a beauty. Her sisters are all absolutely in love with her. I originally picked Hayden for a boy's name, but when I found out she was a girl every time I talked about her in my mind her name was Hayden so it just seemed right.

I think it works great for a girl...I always consider it a girls name b/c of my sister, lol

I went on a site that had button that said surprise me with a boys name and that is the name that came up...so I just took it for a boys name but then i saw the actress...that girl from heros and her name is Hayden so i loved it for a girl. Plus it is also the name of my all time fav moto GP rider...Nicky Hayden. I guess sometimes names are just meant to be!!
