Best "home remedies" for UTI?

So I have a UTI and it doesn't seem to be clearing up with antibiotics... what else do you guys swear by? This is my first UTI ever and it sucks so bad.   I heard those AZO cranberry pills are good, but I have a problem swallowing pills... how huge are they?

You can drink cranberry juice as well. The all natural, no sugar added stuff is gross as hell but it's the most concentrated.

Do AZO. They are super tiny and WORK WONDERS. I promise.

Drink unsweetened cranberry juice.. and TONS of water to flush it out..

They're not too big...I have a problem with pills, too....but AZO aren't too bad.

Drink plenty of water and cranberry juice, also.

Table spoon of baking soda in a large glass of water, its gross but choke it down.

The acid in it helps get rid of the bacteria.

Also, go to the grocery store.... You need NOT From concentrate cranberry juice, with no added sugar. its a little bit bitter, but you can get it down. Mix it with sprite if you have a hard time drinking it, but not a lot. Drink the WHOLE bottle in one day, then drink buttloads of water,

It will help I SWEAR TO GOD!!!I made a UTI go away on it's own this way.

I have been hospitalized for a UTI and the Doc said squeeze some lemons mix with a little water and drink it every day until its gone. He also said that I could drink cranberry juice to help prevent it but it has to be sugar free.
The Lemon really works, I used to get them all the time. Every month I get tested for UTI when I go to the doctors and haven't had one in about a year now. Cranberry juice should be part of your daily diet if you get them bad, eventually you get used to the taste and it's not so bad.

I drank Cranberry juice, too, to get rid of them. That really helped. I couldn't stand the taste of straight cranberry juice, so I ended up getting Cran-Apple, or some other kind of mixture. You have to make sure that in the ingredients, the FIRST one is Cranberries, not stuff like Corn Syrup, or anything from Concentrate. NO COCKTAIL juice.. that's fake, too. I think the kind we got was Ocean Spray that was pure juice. I took Cranberry Pills to get rid of mine, I would take alot of them, and it disappeared within a day, so I stopped taking the antibiotics. I found I got better results doing natural things, and didn't want the side effects and harms from the antibiotics. The cranberry pills are not too huge, but if you want, you can open the capsules, and put the contents in any kind of drink, and it tastes good. The pills are just more potent. I know how much the UTI's hurt.. omg do I know... I've had them all my life because I have Kidney Reflux. Good Luck!!

How tiny? Like seriously I struggle through tylenol.   Birth control and aleve are the only sized pills I can swallow, lol

The AZO are about the size of birth control pills, actually. They are round, and super small, just like those. If you can't swallow them, you can actually crush them up, put them in a little juice, and take it down like a 'shot'. Or put them in something. But they are really super small, just like birth control. The nice part about AZO is that is has cranberry extract in it, to help with the UTI, PLUS it has a pain reliever in there.. that I swear goes STRAIGHT to your hurting 'cooter'. Mine always hurt like WHOA when I had a UTI. And Tylenol didn't do a thing, but the AZO seemed to work instantly. It's worth it to get it down.. it works great

Oh, and I know how it goes about not being able to swallow pills. I can do it now.. but I FINALLY swallowed my FIRST pill at 18. Before that, I would have to ask the doc for liquid or stuff I could crush up. I felt like such an idiot, esp. when I saw 5 yr. olds taking pills. But slowly but surely I got the hang of it, and now I can take just about anything.

YAY tiny pills! that's so great to hear. How many should I take a day/at a time? They're okay to take while pregnant? I'm definitely picking them up!

Yeah I seriously think that's why I haven't gotten over the UTI yet... I cant swallow the damn anitbiotic, and I have to crush it.

I can't remember.. I think I took two every 6 hrs?? If it says to take One at first, take Two just to get it going and get rid of the pain and stuff. Yeah, antibiotics suck. I stopped taking them because if you take them long term (my DR wanted me on them my WHOLE pregnancy..) it can cause the babies immune system and kidneys to not work as well. My mom took antibiotics her whole pregnancy with me, and now I can't fight off UTI's and I have kidney reflux. The DR does say they are safe to take, but like anything that you take TOO MUCH of.. you grow immune to it. And I didnt want my baby being even a little immune to anything he didnt have to be. So my first UTI I got at about 20 wks, and it put me into some good contractions (pre-term labor). That scared the crap out of me, so I took a few days worth of antibiotics. It didn't help any, so I took the AZO and started drinking ALOT of cranberry juice, and taking the cranberry pills. I would reccomend getting those, too. The Azo doesn't Prevent it.. just helps it go away. You could even get cranberry juice, and empty some of the capsules in there (cranberry capsules). After I got rid of it, I drank a TON of juice and Gatorade. Juice and Gatorade have kept mine away and I feel great.   First time in my life I've gone w/o a UTI every month! LOL..

The Azo are like $5 for a box of ALOT of them. The Cranberry pills are in the herbs/nutrition section, and they are like $8 for 90 capsules, if you get them make sure you get them as organic as possible, and with the most MG's as possible. And definitely stock up on Gatorade and Juice

So wait... I thought AZO WAS cranberry pills?
