My daughter will be 7 months old next week and my pedi told me to bring her in for her flu shot. How many of you think this is ok now?? And please respond as to why or why not! Thanks!

I think it's a little early in the season for a flu shot, but I'd definately get her one this year...especially if she's in daycare at all. Better to be safe IMO!

I would have to vote no.... I heard that the flu shot is made for only one type of flu anyway.. so theres still the chance that you wil get the other types of flu?? I thought that they didn't want babies to get the flu shot until they were at least a year anyways?? 

I voted no.
I wouldn't risk it.

I don't -plan- on getting my daughter a flu shot for a few reasons:
They still contain mercury from what I have read
My husband and I have never gotten one, and we have never seen the reason for it
From watching people I know get them, they always end up sick afterwards, which kind of negates the whole idea
I am a stay at home mom. We don't use a sitter, daycare, or have playgroups, the only public situations we are in is the doctor, store or restaurants.
And finally, I have anxiety over her getting the regular shots as it is, I don't need to add more to the list.

Yes they only block one flu strain. And they are recommending babies get them at 6 months now, and here in NJ they were actually trying to make it so you HAVE to get it, especially if the parents worked outside the home (because "we don't want parents to have to miss work to take care of sick children" or something like that)

WOW!! thats crazy I'd be pissed if someone was telling me that I HAD TO GET IT... when they don't even have get the other shots until school. don't get me wrong my son has had all of shots except the flu shot.. I just don't see the point
