re: Scheduled C-section

posted 28th Aug
Think of it this way you dont have to go thru all the pain of labor the pushing... etc......... Unless you go b4 then when you get there you dont have to wait it out thats how I looked at it I had my 1st after 10 hr of back labor 2 1/2 hr pushing then they done a c sect my second (which was due Sept6 my c was sched sept2 he came on July 30) I was in the hospital a few days for preterm labor & bleeding then they decided to do the C sect I just thought well at least I didnt have to endure full on labor this time!!! Look at it as a good thing you'll go in & in a few hours have your babies there!!!

My c section is scheduled for September 16th! So I will be just one day ahead of you. Congrats on making it so far with your twins thats a major accomplishment   I had mine emergency c section at 31 weeks so they were really tiny Im sure your ready to have those little babies! To answer your question I am having my second one and I have to admit I am a little nervous even though I've already gone through it all. Every situation is different and everyone goes through similar but unique experiences. I will say that its not as bad as your probably imagining it to be. Its tyical to be in the hospital for 3 to 4 days afterwards to heal. It will probably take a good couple of weeks before your feeling back to normal but it is a major surgery and it takes a little while. Other than that its true, you wont have to go through labor and all the contractions and pushing. It is still an absolutely amazing and life changing moment so congratulations! You'll love having twins they are such a blessing and a joy good luck you'll do just fine!

Wow, my babies are a little bigger....Baby A (girl) was 4lbz9oz and B (boy) was 5lbs13 oz; that was a week ago on Tuesday....I am actually thinking about calling my doctor and rescheduling for earlier...

I think I will be the same way; being silent on the way to the hospital. My appointment is for 11 am so they said I have to be there around 9 to get ready...and of course no food before the surgery...just in case you may throw up during the procedure...Just thinking about it will probably make me throw up and I probably will have to keep my eyes covered so I don't freak out from the hospital and lights scene....I'm a big freak when it comes to stuff like that  (

Wow, thats a big difference.. They told me that if one started growing more then the other then they would have to take them because that means ones not getting as much as the other. But i guess its also cuz the measurements could be off a lil.

Yeah, but thats the case if the twins are idential. Mine are fraternal and have their own placentas; and also doctor said that the boy usually should weigh more than the girl; I think it goes up to like 20% difference or 25% then I think it matters but the doctor said in my case it is still ok.

I have to have a c section on Sept 11. I'm sooo scared...I had my birthing plan and everything..set for natural delivery and about 2 weeks ago they told me that the baby hasn't turned and I have low lying placenta.
So I haven't had much time to process this. I know that it's the safest way for the baby to be delivered but I have never had surgery before.. and the thought of it just bothers me for some reason.

Yeah, it does sound scary; I also never had any surgery. I have a feeling I'm going to pass out on the way to the hospital.

i'm extremely nervous now! I go in tomorrow for my final appt. and ultrasound. I'm sorta hoping that baby boy is still breech. If not, they may cancel the c-section, and i'm to the point of tears almost every day due to pain. I dunno if i can last for an infinate amount of time until THEY decide they wanna come out.

well, everything went great at the u/s and appt. I went in yesterday for my testing and tour. Now i have about 3 more hours before i go to the hospital. The thing i'm most scared about is the spinal because no one is allowed in there with me while they're doing it. I've had so many IV's that they dont bother me anymore, but this is the first time i've had anything like this. Plus, i'm starving and dying of thurst right now. I am a water-holic lately, and i haven't been allowed to drink anything after midnight. Now i have to be extra careful not to drink anything or they won't do the surgery for 8 hours.

WEll yesterday I did all my final paperwork and checkups and everything. Now im beginning to realize that this time next week I will have my little one here and life will be changed forever!!!
Im not as scared as i was before/.....talking to the Pre op nurse really settled things for me!
Now I;m playing the waiting game AGAIN!!!
I think it;s more nerve racking knowing the date and time oppose to not knowing!
