possible twins?

Is is possible to be pregnant with twins and it not be seen on the ultrasound? The reason why I am asking is because, I am measuring larger than I should be and I swear i get kicks in the ribs at the same time as in the bladder.

i dont think as far along as you are that they wouldnt have picked it up.

dont forget, your baby has legs and arms too!  

The kicks could just be feet and hands! My son did that to me a lot. Or push on both sides at the same time...
but i've only ever heard of undetected twins once.... and they weren't really paying attention/doing their job right.... they should be checking the heartbeat at every appointment so they should be able to find 2 at one point.

No...they would have seen another baby. Your baby is just probably squirming around a lot in there.

My babies would beat me up!! They would kick and punch me!! Maybe that is happening to you too! They were singles but felt like twins.

With todays technology....it would be kinda hard to miss a extra limb...or something......

If your baby is kicking off your ribs, his head will hit your bladder! My husband used to say he swore there was more than one because my stomach would move all over the place.

Its possible, but this late in pregnancy they wuol dnotice something is odd.

They check your liver for fetal liver excretions, and when its high either your baby is sick, or theres two. By now they would have mentioned one or the other.

If you're just measuring a little big, I wouldn't worry. A lot big, I might ask for another u/s. I have seen some big mommies on here though that only had one.  

Yup, by 24 weeks i was massive - there was no missing it! After having the 20 weeks scan, id say its near impossible not to know by then.

As far as being impossible I can't state that as a fact but it would be EXTREMELY unlikely I would think. I had many many ultrasounds when prego with my twins and there would have been absolutely no way we could have just oops! missed a baby lol. They were both clearly visable very early on. Maybe its just arms on top and legs on bottom or vise versa. With twins you feel them on both sides usually not top to bottom like that. Its also not thatuncommon to be measuring big.

A girl I went to hightschool with went for an ultrasound at 10 weeks and they didn't see 2 babies but when they went back for the anatomy scan at 21 weeks they saw that it was twins. How many weeks are you?

I feel them alllll over......not just top and bottom....
