Cub Scouts??

So I think I'm going to sign my 8 year old son up for cub scouts. He's small for his age and I think he gets a bit self conscious so hedoesn't really get into sports. He loves anything to do with being outdoors like fishing, wading in the creek and he absolutely adores animals. I was checking out cub scouts and thinking that might be a good thing for him. Does anyone have a son in cub scouts? Do they like it, do you like it?

i do not have a son in cub scouts. but my little brother has been in scouts since 1st grade and me since 2nd grade. both my mom and dad have become adults in boy scouts, girl scouts, and venturing. cub scouts when my brother was younger. and now both me and my brother are adults in scouting too. im not near as active anymore. im not affiliated with any current troops. but the rest of my family still are. they do things weekly and its a really great program. i know your son will enjoy it!

if you have any questions about any of the scouting programs im sure i have an answer or could find one real easy for you. being involved with the program for over 15 yearsnow, i know a lot.

Is there a particular reason, or are you just not interested. I don't know too much about it, I'm going to an information session on the 4th to learn more about it.

My oldest is 9 1/2 and loves cub scouts. We actually just had a pack meeting tonight. My 6 year old can't wait until he is old enough to join.

My son is almost 8 and this is his second year in cub scouts. He loves it and we love going with him. My husband is more involved in it with him then I am but I go to some of the meetings and I go on the camp outs and stuff. It's a lot of fun.
