re: To induce or not to induce?

When i had my daughter, I was given Pitocin, but no Cervidil. The contractions weren't that bad at the start. I think the pain is going to be different for every woman. I also was GSB + and needed antibiotics. I personally would induce. You are full term, so it's going to happen soon anyway. this way you know that your baby is getting the best care possible.

when i gave birth, i was induced 2 weeks early cuz of spiked BP, but my labor was incredibly quick, so quick i didnt even get the EPI! i honestly can say that being induced wasnt a bad experience for me, having the nurses i had, WAS! LOL

i only have known of one way of birthing, so i dont know how it would be without being induced and stuff, as far as the pain goes... i guess all labor is painful, whether pitocin is involved or not.

Ya me too!! I tried sooooo dang hard to do it, but after 10 hours on pitocin I HAD to get the epi...and I've kinda beat myself up about it since...but my doc and everyone involved were pretty sure I might have passed out without it...

Very true...it is painful either way...and about the nurses...AMEN sister. I can't believe some of them chose a profession where they are intended to HELP people daily because it sure wasn't in their blood to show any compassion or empathy!!

Thank you all so much for your thoughts, the nurse is calling me tomorrow a.m. and letting me know further details into why the doctor is opting for inducing. I will let you all know what is said. I cant wait to hear.

ha! Yeah, my mom said I was starting to look like the exorcist girl (thanks mom!  ) and I'm pretty sure I almost broke my husband's fingers because I was squeezing so hard.
