am i wrong?

posted 26th Aug
So parker got his shots today and of course the day he gets his shots his grandparents wanna come over.
I told them it probably isn't a good night because he has a little fever and he's fussy. They keep trying to find ways to come over even though i told them no. They say they won't stay long and stuff but i know thats not true. I really just don't feel like having company plus we're probably going to see them sunday if josh is off. Anyways is that wrong of me to not let them come over? I know josh is gonna be a little pissed when he finds out i said no but im just afraid if they come over it will be a little to much to handle.

Not wrong at all. Your house, your kid, your boundaries. If you start giving in when there's a true reason (the fussiness of the shots) then when you hand them an excuse, they'll think you're just crying wolf. Stick to your guns, girl.

I don't think you're wrong at all. My little guy was very fussy after his shots. The last thing you need is Grandma and Grandpa poking at him.

No your not wrong. They need to respect the fact that you said no and that your a lil busy at the moment with your fussy little one that doesn't feel good. Baby probably doesn't feel like company either!

I agree... it always seemed when matt would get his shots my ex mother in law would show up at my back door ... UNEXPECTEDLY . and then would stay too long and attempt to engage him in play knowing he is fresh from a needle and then try to not pass him back to me when he would cry ... saying " he needs to toughen up his lungs" It would take me snatching him back from her clutches to soothe him for her to get the picture and leave ... THEN i would have a miserable baby for the rest of the day . I have issues with this woman because she will knock on my door when i least expect it . Her friend drives into the city for dr visits and she will jump in the truck and ride along to get a visit in , not considering i might be out shopping or be planning to leave which causes me to have to rearrange my plans ... but to this i say maybe ya need to inform your hubby that he needs to talk to her, remind her that you all will be there soon enough...

gah that sucks
i would hate it if they showed up unexpected
his grandparents do something similar to that. they like to play what i call "lets wake the baby" mhm they will wake him from a dead sleep like right after i get him to sleep because they wanna see him with his eyes open..well hello come when its not 9 at night! thennn they leave me with a crying baby. it makes me so mad and thats one of the reasons i didn't want them coming over tonight because i figured they would do that.

i wonder how much of that is payback for your parent waking their baby when asleep back in the olden days LOL
