No, my hubby's in the Army and currently deployed. My boys have ADHD and so we have to do things to burn energy or else they drive me crazy.

I made them all hug and kiss on the cheek. Then they each did a chore!! Now they are playing nicely!

That's awesome. And as an added bonus...the kids get some good exercise out of it and they might be tired enough to go to bed early.

Whenever my girls ( 6 and 13) start to fight, they both have to go to time out until they can apologize and get along! It doesn't matter who starts it, they both get punished for arguing. Also, when they tell on each other, unless it was a safety issue, like one of them was playing with fire, they both get into trouble. If I even hear fighting or name calling, it's an automatic time out for both. Second occurrance on the same day, they are grounded from TV, computer and video games, until after school on the next day. Being grounded means they don't have much to do but play with each other. If they have a good week, they get ice cream sundaes at the local shop on Fridays. Basically, you just have to let them know of the consequence for their "bad behavior", (spanking, grounding, time out)whatever you consider it to be.... And follow through with the discipline. That is the most important thing. Once they realize you are not giving them any extra chances, and you are serious about punishing them, they will listen! GOOD LUCK!

My mom made us hold hands on the couch until we apologized.  I was the youngest so it wasn't really punishment for me, but my older brother hated it!  

my mom used to make us hold hands when we fought lol we hated it.
