Suggestions for Prizes

For games played at babyshower? I thought of a few, but don't want to be too cheesy. My shower is this Sunday and i still haven't picked up any gifts for the games.

At mine, they melted different candy bars in diapers and had every one smell them to guess which kind of chocolate bar it was. Pretty humorous.  

Not really a game but we always tell everybody to bring a thing of diapers in any size and their name will be entered in a drawing.. and we give whoever is picked a goody basket! It's a way to get lots of diapers!

At my shower..which hasn't happended yet, but is planned, my friends are each going to cut a legnth of string as a guess to see how big my belly is, the best fit wins.....as well at work they have started a betting pool on birthdate, sex, and weight!

My mom and MIL made up different gift/prize baskets. (Gardening, Stationary/Picture Frame stuff, Body Wash stuff, etc)

We did that at my babyshower my MIL had me....it turned out great! Except we did diapers and wipes.

Oh there is also the baby food game... pull the labels of different baby foods... and people can smell them or taste them and whoever gets the most right wins!

We gave vanity stuff too for prizes!

That's what i was thinking. At my friends shower they gave out gift cert. for restaurants and the nail salon. I thought that was a little too much.

We did picture frames, candles, coffee mugs, etc. Just home stuff that everyone can use. We put it all in different cute boxes so when it was time to pick a prize you didn't know which one you would get. We also did lotions and things.

I did this at my shower and got 20 packages!

Yeah you dont want to spend a bunch of money on prizes that could have been spent on stuff needed for the baby. I think my mom and MIL did most of their shopping for prizes, games, and decorations at the dollarstores.

Oh I read your post fast.. I thought you wanted more games... we've always done various prizes.. like gift cards... baskets of like bath and body works... candles... I know at my friends they made boxes with like foot care stuff... like the foot filer and exfoliator stuff...

For prizes at my shower, my MIL did a few scratch tickets, a $10 Dunkin Donuts gift card, etc.
